these keys are not working on version 2010 and 2009

It wont work if you used trial re setter or any cracks, just do a clean install and try but I am not sure because I always stick with KIS2010.

couldn't get this to work either. I keep getting a prompt that says my code is not for the product that I've installed, which was KAV 2010. I'm thinking maybe you have to have installed a Chinese version of Kaspersky? Is that possible? Some feedback from people that did get it to work (if any) would be helpful.

To activate the chinese activation code on English version of Kaspersky Antivirus 2009.

1. Right click at Kaspersky icon at the icon at the notification area and select Settings.

Right Click Kaspersky Tray Icon

2. Go to Options and “uncheck” Enable Self-Defense. Click OK to close the settings window.

Disable Kaspersky Self Defense

3. Right click at Kaspersky icon at the notification area and select Exit.

4. Go to C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009\Skin\loc and rename the folder from en to sch.

5. Go to Start > Run , type regedit and click OK.

6. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KasperskyLab\protected\AVP8\environment

7. Look for the Localization name and double click on it. Change the value data from en to sch. Close the Registry Editor.

Kaspersky Localization

8. Run Kaspersky Antivirus either from desktop or start menu and you’ll be prompted to activate the application.

9. Select Activate online and enter the 25 digit activation code that you got earlier.

10. Voila! You should see that it’s sending the data to Kaspersky server and will then tell you that the key is successfully installed with the expiration date 6 months ahead.

Activated Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009

Note: I guess you can revert back your settings to English after activating but not sure, should work with KAV 2010 too

Ok, I think I figured out the problem, at least to some degree. I tried your directions just above, but after changing the registry I opened up KAV 2010 only to find a version with no language at all, just graphics. So I thought maybe the problem was that I needed the chinese language file. I went to the download site for all the kaspersky products and looked up the KAV for simplified chinese. Apparently there is no 2010 yet out for that language, at least not as we know it. The chinese language 2010 is version 8.xx while the U.S. version 2010 is 9.xx, which explains why I was getting the prompt that my product key was for something other than what I had installed when I tried to use the msn serial #. They don't have a KAV 2010 yet for chinese, at least not one that's available to be downloaded publically and is version 9.xx.

I'm not going to re-install the older version right now to see if your directions would work on that, since at a minimum I would have to start installing a chinese version just for starters. But it seems that for what most people would have thought was a 2010 version, the most recent KAV release, these msn serial numbers will not work.

Nice try though. This would have been an excellent deal if it would accept the serial #.

The easiest and best work around i found to work is install the kav2010.0.0.463sch. Go to options and turned off self defense and in C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010\Skin\loc there should be 2 folders. One en the other sch. copy the en folder over the sch files and it will display en thinking its displaying chinese. turn back on self defense and should work fine.

Thanks remo!

where can we download kav2010.0.0.463sch.exe?

http://www.kaspersky.com/kav_latest_versions does not seems to have sch version?
