StartIsBack is a great way to relieve your (and your users) Windows 8 pain. StartIsBack returns Windows 8 a real fully featured start menu and start button, behaving exactly like the ones in Windows 7. StartIsBack radically improves desktop usability and makes new Start screen clutter-free. StartIsBack is fully native lightweight zero-privileges program, cheap and fair, fast, stable and secure. Boot to desktop; Original fully-featured Windows 7 start menu; Desktop and Modern interfaces clearly separated; Make Start screen clutter-free; Totally native; Rich customization and configuration; And More to come! Think of it as a transition path which Microsoft should have made for Windows 8. StartIsBack+ is the all-new version of StartIsBack for Windows 8.1. It's a FREE upgrade for all StartIsBack users. With Windows 10 StartIsBack++ is your pick.

Thanks to Siddharta for the update.

Start Menu would not open if "display glyph items" were unchecked. They fixed it under a day. Love this program......

it's no good without a "fix"...

Trial rest in frontpage works fine

too much of a hassle, I'd rather wait for the fixed version

The trial rest you can install it and it will auto rest it each restart, i been using it for last 3 versions now, works without any problem with me

that might be true, but the issue here is that I, sometimes, install this program for other people, who are absolutely computer-illiterate and i don't wanna have 'em calling me every time the trial expires...

Same here. use the auto rest it will install it self to startisback folder and it will rest it on every restart automatically

2,99 USD for a lifetime license for Startisback, why should you use a "cracked" version?

People are more then happy to pay this money to have a normal start menu in Windows 8/8.1 when I installed Startisback in the days.

Now with Windows 10, the stock startmenu is back ok, I prefer still the Startisback menu in Windows 10.

Totally agree. I have put this on at least 3 PC's because most are familiar with Windows 7's start menu and look and don't like change. For myself, I have it because I don't have a touch screen and hate the stupid tiles.
