Toshiro
ASUS, one of the world's leading vendors of computer hardware, has recently announced the introduction of its high-end Republic of Gamers (ROG) MARS/2DI/4GD3 graphics card to the US market. The card, which has been initially showcased by the company at its booth at Computex, earlier this year, was designed to deliver the ultimate graphics performance, combining two of NVIDIA's high-end GeForce GTX 285 GPUs in a single solution. The specifications of the high-end card have been available for some time now, as the Taiwanese graphics card maker already revealed it earlier this year. Designed to provide the ultimate graphics experience for desktop PC users, the new ASUS MARS combines two GeForce GTX 285 GPUs with a whopping 4GB of onboard RAM and the world's first 1024-bit memory bandwidth. Boasting a custom, dual-slot cooling solution, the card is reportedly 23% faster than NVIDIA's reference GTX 295, while its thermal design offers a 65% boost in heatpipe coverage and 20% heat dissipation rate.Additional features include clock speed of 648MHz for the GPU, with 1476MHz for the shader clock, enabling a high-level of performance in the latest gaming applications. There are also one VGA output, two DVI outputs and an HDMI, to deliver a complete range of connectivity options to those high-end users who will be looking for this card.Aside from being one of the most high-end solutions for a desktop rig, the new ASUS MARS is also expected to be part of a limited series of cards, each one featuring its own unique serial number. According to the company, the card will only be available in quantities of 1000 units and it will be sold in North America “on a first come, first served basis.” ASUS is due to announce the exact place and time of availability through its official Twitter social networking page.Source : Softpedia
