straycat19
CIA hacking tools that WikiLeaks exposed as part of its Vault 7 data dump are linked to a rash of trojans and zero-day vulnerabilities that have infected computers since 2011, anti-virus software Symantec claimed this week. The attacks, which Symantec researchers have lumped together into a single virus that they codenamed "Longhorn," have targeted at least 40 different organizations in 16 countries in the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The victims include companies in the financial, telecom, energy, aerospace, IT, education, and natural resources sectors, as well as governments and international NGOs. Symantec made the link between Longhorn and the WikiLeaks CIA hacking trove using changelog data, which shows that new features were added to the CIA tools at the same time as updates to some of Longhorn's tools. Other similarities exist, too, including cryptographic practices and the methods that both sets of tools use to cover their tracks on the systems they infect. "Longhorn has used advanced malware tools and zero-day vulnerabilities to infiltrate a string of targets worldwide," Symantec said in a blog post. "Taken in combination, the tools, techniques, and procedures employed by Longhorn are distinctive and unique to this group, leaving little doubt about its link to Vault 7." Symantec said it first became aware of Longhorn in 2014, and that its anti-virus products provide protection against the malware. The company hasn't identified any domestic targets; although it observed one computer in the US infected with Longhorn, the virus uninstalled itself within hours, suggesting that the infection was inadvertent. WikiLeaks first announced its possession of the Vault 7 hacking tools in early March, claiming that they were widely circulated among government contractors, one of whom leaked them to the organization. source
steven36
Click bait, you changed the title from Symantec Links Trojans, Malware to CIA Hacking Tools to CIA's Longhorn Malware Working Since 2011 .That's as bad as some that click bait i see on reddit were they post the sane post in 5 different sub reddits with different titles. I dont like it if i went too a site and read it all ready I dont want too read it again with a different title. We already know the Feds exploits work for years . One thing is government jobs dont pay very well so it's hard to find good hackers to work for them so they have too pay 3rd party researchers and pay a lot of money for there exploits and they will use them as long as they are effective because they have a budget meaning they only have so much money they can spend on exploits . If they had a unlimited budget I'm sure they would make new ones and retire the old ones much faster. The longer a exploit is out there the bigger change it will be discovered by blackhats , other state hackers and .whistle blowers. But since most whistle blowers. work for the the Feds as temporary workers anymore they have better access too them. It's like back in in the early 2000s they hired known criminals that worked out a deal with the feds so they would not go jail latter on as paid CIs too bust domestic terrorist gangs because they dont have the manpower to solve crime so they pay convicted felons to work for them . I'm sure they still have many criminals on there payroll today. this is why you should never trust anyone on internet to be who they say they are, because you cant trust people in real life to be who they say they are many have different names and everything gave too them by the government and are criminals who are paid by the Feds. You may not like reading the same data under a different title and you can always avoid that by not using the internet and going out to buy a newspaper. I never read Reddit, that is the equivalent of the Enquirer, which was always called a grocery store rag. Matter of fact I never post data that I don't know for a fact is true, at least in some respect, and not just misinformation or some journalist's pipe dream. So I don't post much. You can criticize my posts all day long, I really don't care. The only thing that was ever said to me in my life that touched a nerve was, as a young man, my mother said that I enjoyed travelling around the world killing people more than I enjoyed being with family, because I was always traveling and they would go several years without seeing me. That hurt. Unfortunately it was true and I didn't see my family in the 4 years preceding my father's death. I regret that. You obviously don't know anything real about what the Feds do since your posts always reflect the crap on the internet. As far as pay goes, the government pays very generously for people with computer skills. It is on a sliding pay scale based on ability, training, experience. I might add that retirement is very, very generous also. No criminal can be an employee, they can only serve as Confidential Informants (CI), since a security clearance is required and if you have a criminal backround the Defense Intelligence Service, which conducts background investigations for all clearances, will never grant a clearance. The CIA conducts its own background investigations if the nature of the clearance allows access to CIA information. These are referred to as Special Intelligence Access clearances, or simply as compartmented access clearances since there are code letter identifications associated with the various 'compartments' that specify what data you actually have access to based on its source, be it the CIA, NSA, DIA, ACSI, or foreign intelligence agency. And sometimes an employee of one federal agency can be a CI for another federal agency. CI's can also be anyone who the FBI. or other law enforcement agency, grants CI status to in order to protect their identity. CI's have a rating associated with their names consisting of a letter and number. The letter categorizes the informant as to their reliability and the number categorizes the information as to its reliability. These ratings run from A1 to D5. No you're talking about the computer part I'm talking about them hiring people in real life in the witness protection program that they gave new names witch were criminals who ratted everyone out like Charles Falco who made meth and faced 20 years and he later became a i paid informant who took down biker gangs witch most gangs are domestic terrorist. The Cop Who Infiltrated Southern California’s Most Notorious Biker Gangs http://www.lamag.com/culturefiles/the-cop-who-infiltrated-southern-californias-most-notorious-biker-gangs/ Want to make a million? Become a DEA informant. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/wp/2016/09/30/want-to-make-a-million-become-a-dea-informant/ You Are the one who is under the delusion that fighting crime on the internet will do any good when the biggest problem is out on the street What Charles Falco done didn't really help anything they were just replaced and more dangerous than ever . The feds cant even stop crime on the streets let alone on the internet This why i dont trust no one I dont really know, let alone believe someone who is hiding behind a keyboard They get paid to lie.and they lie too everyone not just criminals. Its a crime in court to lie but they get paid to lie to entrap people. So if they lie too everyone all the time they sure would lie in court to get a convection Law enforcement are more dishonest than the criminals are and some of them are criminals. One lie leads to another one . I have no reason too lie on the internet the last thing I care about is impressing people i never meet in real life and someone on the internet I dont know will really never gain my trust .. The CIA used to back the Contra Rebels witch they say a Contra was the 1st person to bring crack cocaine too the USA and show them how to make . You could blame Regan and the CIA for being involved with them and for all these people diying and ruining there life with this dangerous drug to support there stupid war.. The Contras, Cocaine, and Covert Operations http://nsarchive.gwu.edu/NSAEBB/NSAEBB2/index.html The CIA hired whole armies of criminals before. helped then bring drugs in the USA and supplied them with weapons and the 1st Bush pardon those CIA agents who were involved.
