[solved] Where I find a very light x86 Windows for my ASUS 1008HA Eee PC

I have an old ASUS 1008HA Eee PC and my idea is to use it on a special way. On this netbook should only run a VPN client and Connectify (I have a payed version). The function should be a bridge between any open WiFi and a other notebook with a running Tails = TOR connects across the VPN selected country to the internet. Is it needed to build my one WInPE or is there a source for a light Windows that I can use?

Any Windows 7 will run well enough with 2 GB of RAM   Asus Eee PC 1008HA comes with 2gb of ram i have old HP laptop here that came with vista works good with Windows 7 .

 

Others say that model work ok with win 7  just you have do drivers and install via flash drive  since it have no dvd rom

I dont know about light versions very much i tested them some in vm and had problems with windows updates so i stay clear of them . I ran x64 windows 7  on a xp box I had that had 2gb  of ram for 2 years it could install ether one  x86 or x64 but I should of really used x86 because it was not very fast . x86  It work fine on the small laptop I have.

There was running Win7 already a wile on this PC but everything needs to much time. At the moment there runs Linux but I don't know a Connectify comparable tool that runs on Linux and the Linux version of my VPN has not the same functions as the Windows Client.

 

One problem is that I have to harden the Windows / get warned if there is a  risk that the system was compromised

I tested long time ago these Windows Lite versions and are working ok .  If you have concerns about security and want to use Windows Update it`s better  to use one genuine ISO using the links in  november_ra1n `s posts

I understand what you're saying i use too use Nord VPN  with Linux Mint but i had too run it trough the terminal  with open vpn  but  I dont use that no more my vpn client work the same in Linux mint and Ubuntu .as on windows now

I already have windows 7 working very well on 2 of my PCs  the other 2 I have Windows 10 and Linux on .I cant remember witch light version i tested  exactly its was like 2014 i downloaded it from here it may of been windows 8.1 but  it would not do windows updates.

What about using Windows 10 Lite (Better Privacy)?

Windows 10 = better privacy and the NSA is an aid organization? The only way for better privacy is to use Linux but on this bridge are no data and I know how to protect the 2 running tools.
