Windows 10 Redstone 2 upgrade issue

I have Windows 10 Pro 1607 AKA Redstone 1 installed in my laptop. I have downloaded the Redstone 2 ISO and created a bootable media with it in order to upgrade. But when I ran the Setup file from the bootable media, after 26% a window with an error message "Setup has failed to initialize the working directory" pops up.

I googled this and found that systems with low disc space can encounter this error. But I have 58 GB free in my C drive. So why me?

probably you have damaged user permissions for folders/files/registry in your current windows installation (generally caused by a malware) thats why the setup/upgrade failed, because it can't write in some directories without permissions.

fails at 75% with upgrade assistant and through media creation tools here..

something to do with second boot migrating files (its what it says when system restores)

I feel your pain

forgot to mention thats only (upgrade) trying a clean install now

How much it is of whole space on this drive or partition. I mean the percentage.
If it is at least 30% or more, it cannot be the reason.

Best way is wait for big update when bugs fixed more peoples have random problems with upgrade, with clean install and some have BSOD and more errors.

for a hassle free experience use ISO file and do a Clean Install. done it on a couple of machines ranging from old to new, no problem here.

Do a clean install and choose to keep all files and programs works smooth.

How to do a clean install and choose to keep all files and programs?
Is it something new again?
If not, then what means not clean install and how to do it? What is the difference.

I know guys clean install will work but then it will take a week of hard work for me to configure and install the softwares again. This is when it gets painful.

have you tried with just mounting the ISO and running setup from there??

You mean in a virtual drive?
