CrAKeN
deepin 15.4 RC At the end of February, the upcoming deepin 15.4 Linux distribution entered Beta stages of development, and now, one month later, the team published the Release Candidate version. deepin 15.4 Release Candidate is an important milestone in the development cycle of the Linux-based operating system, and it looks like many of the things users suggested from the Beta release have been implemented, along with lots of bugs fixes for the desktop, Control Center, launcher, dock, window manager, and other components. "deepin is a Linux distribution devoted to providing beautiful, easy to use, safe and reliable system for global users. After public test of deepin 15.4 Beta, we have received a lot of suggestions and feedback, we adopted part of them and fixed a lot of problems," reads today's announcement. Highlights of deepin 15.4 Release Candidate Among the changes included in the Release Candidate (RC) build of the upcoming deepin 15.4 operating system, we can mention an improved Control Center that now features custom weather location, controls for playing music, custom settings for multi-screen configurations, and a new switch to remember the status of NumLock. The quick bar styles on Control Center's homepage have been optimized, some new plugin functions were implemented, and various other bugs fixed. Pre-installed, users will find a collection of new wallpapers, and deepin 15.4 RC also optimizes the keyboard layout function, the details of system UI, and the desktop hot corners. The Launcher received some attention as well in this Release Candidate of deepin 15.4, and among the things that have been optimized, we can mention the UI and interaction, displaying of app icons, styles on selection, as well as the fonts, which will now be adjusted automatically by system fonts. deepin 15.4 RC ships pre-installed with the Foxit Reader PDF viewer, optimizes the display of app icons in the Dock, adds support for setting a different wallpaper for each of the default workspaces, along with a new setting a random wallpaper for any of the newly added workspaces. Lots of bugs have been squashed, and the interaction and UI details of the window manager were improved in deepin 15.4 Release Candidate, which comes with a Wubi installer that lets Windows users install the operating system from within a Windows 7 or later OS, though you'll need to disable the fast startup functionality. Download the deepin 15.4 RC 64-bit Live ISO image right now from our website, and keep in mind that this remains a development release, not to be used in a production environment, nor as your daily driver. The final release of deepin 15.4 is expected at the end of spring 2017. deepin 15.4 RC with Foxit Reader Deepin 15.4 RC Changelog Spoiler Desktop Preinstalled brand new desktop wallpapers; Optimized keyboard layout function and it can be switched by shortcut keys; Optimized interaction experience of desktop hot corner; Optimized details of system UI; Fixed blurred screen issues for the Intel integrated graphics card users; Fixed issues that the wallpaper thumbnails probably not match the actual set wallpaper; Control Center Added custom weather location; Added controls for playing music; Added other plugins functions; Added custom settings for multi-screens; Added switch for remembering the status of NumLock; Optimized quick bar styles at homepage of control center; Fixed issues that control center lost the record; Fixed issues that sometimes control center will not record notifications; Fixed issues that cannot modify the custom shortcut keys; Fixed issues that could cause crash potentially; Launcher Optimized UI and interaction; Optimized for showing App icons, and fixed issues that icons are blurred; Optimized fonts to adjust automatically by system fonts; Optimized styles on selection; Dock Optimized for showing App icons, and fixed issues that icons are blurred; Fixed issues that you may not find the icons; Fixed issues that adjusting volume could cause crash; Fixed issues that set position could change the position and size of the normal windows; Window Manager Added showing different wallpapers for 4 default workspaces; Added setting random wallpapers for newly added workspaces; Optimized interaction and UI details of window manager; Optimized crash problems while opening the multitask view; Other Preinstalled Foxit Reader; Fixed security vulnerabilities of the kernel; Fixed the issue that Steam cannot update; Fixed the issue that netcard like bcm4322 cannot work; Fixed part of the problems that reported during Beta test; Newly added (Wubi) installation mode; Note: Fast startup in Windows 7 or editions later after that should be disabled before installing. OrbingStorm
I have a quad boot I use with Fedora Manjaro MX16 and Linux MInt 18 all on a 2 terabyte hard drive I like to play with. One day I may be able to completely move off windows if I wish to. I love MX 16 with Fedora as second favourite. Linux seems to improve all the time. I have tried Deepin in the past and its pretty modern looking but in the end we need more Linux compatible programmes, not more Distros. There app store looks fantastic http://appstore.deepin.org/
