CrAKeN
No delta updates this time for Windows 10 users It’s Windows 10 cumulative update day, as Microsoft has released new updates not only for systems running the Anniversary Update (1607), but also for those on the original Windows 10 (1507). The latter is provided with KB4016637, a new cumulative update that replaces KB4012606 released to users on Patch Tuesday. KB4016637 doesn’t bring too many changes, but only a bug fix, with Microsoft explaining that it addresses a known issue with KB4012606 that caused form display issues with CRM 2011 on Internet Explorer 11. Other than that, there are no other fixes and no new features, even though you might be tempted to think otherwise given the fact that the update is quite large in size. You can download cumulative update KB4016637 from Microsoft’s Update Catalog, and as you can easily notice, the x86 version has 502 MB in size, while the x64 sibling is even bigger at 1074 MB. There are no delta updates this time to download only the different bits, so you have to get the full package. Microsoft is not currently aware of any issues with this update and there’s a good chance that everything is running smoothly, as botched cumulative updates typically affected systems running the Anniversary Update. The few users who are still running Windows 10 version 1507 are obviously recommended to download and install this cumulative update, especially if they see the issue mentioned above and which is supposed to be fixed with this release.
