LeeSmithG
Just some advice please. I always used messenger to read on-line and write emails, till in I.E. Hotmail was virtually unable to be used and messenger started to cause b.s.o.d. I also used Windows live mail, but it started not sending emails and also receiving emails. I deleted and reinstalled the user accounts, it worked a bit then stopped again. So as Microsoft gave me a years free licence for Microsoft office Pro-Plus 2016, I decided to use Outlook 2016. I have installed fifty one (51) of the eighty three (83) emails accounts so far, but it hangs, keeps complaining of .ost files need deleting or something like that. So question one (1) how does one do a repair install of outlook 2016 from an install that was on-line and two (2) where are the .ost files located. I did remove some .ost files before, but like a clutz forgot to write down their location.
Chancer
Best solution would be to search your hard drive for *.ost That will find any you have. When you create new ones Outlook generally puts them in c:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\****.ost
LeeSmithG
Thanks Chancer, I will give it a go later, have an optometrist appointment soon, so busy and get back on how it went! I found the files an removed them, Outlook acted like a first time opening when I opened it. All accounts are there. Anyone still got a clue on a repair install as it keeps crashing? straycat19
Outlook 2016 supports a maximum of 10 Exchange Accounts since it is primarily designed to work with exchange servers. You can increase this amount by modifying the registry. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\ExchangeDWORD: MaxNumExchangeOutlook 2016 values: a number between 1 and 9999 However it may crash and lockup since it wasn't designed to be used as you are using it. I don't know of any program that will handle that many email accounts. I have some that handle the 27 email accounts I have without problems but those are third party paid programs.
