Being infected with Ransomware is scary enough, but there are certain ones that my kids and others helped me pick out that they think are downright creepy.  So a little Halloween treat, I have put this article together to showcase what I, and others consider, the creepiest ransomware infections.

I didn't go into detail about each ransomware, but included links to relevant articles for those who wish to learn more about them.

I would like to wish everyone a Happy and safe Halloween!

Jigsaw Ransomware

The Jigsaw ransomware uses the iconic Billy the Puppet character from the popular Saw movies.  Though the puppet is creepy, what is worse is this thing actually deletes your encrypted files after a certain amount of time. Thankfully, Jigsaw is easily decrypted

Killer Locker

What can I say? Killer clowns scare the bejeezus out of me. This was rated the creepiest  by my kids. I think I agree with them.

Nagini Ransomware

The Nagini Ransomware uses Voldermort from the Harry Potter series as the background for this ransomware. This ransomware is named after Voldemort's pet snake Nagini.

Onyx Ransomware

Though this ransomware doesn't look too creepy, the mask at the bottom of the ransom note may be recognizable from the Spirited Away anime movie.  Without giving away the plot, this spirit is not so nice :(

Angry Duck

I mean come on! That duck looks downright scary! I sure as hell wouldn't want to run into that as I'm trick or treating near a pond.

Trump Ransomware

I was taught never to discuss politics, so I will just leave this picture.

Petya Ransomware

For a computer user, one of the scariest things is when your computer does not boot properly. What could be scarier than your computer not booting and instead of seeing an error message, you see a giant flashing green skull!!

That's it! Hope you have a nice Halloween filled with scares and candy!
