Microsoft releases Windows 10 build 14393.321 for PCs and phones - here's what's new

Microsoft today released new cumulative updates for all versions of Windows 10, including Windows 10 Mobile, as opposed to a few weeks ago when the company released 14393.222 to PCs, but the corresponding Mobile build - 14393.221 - was still only available to Insiders.

 

Today's build 14393.321 is available to PCs and phones on the Anniversary Update; however, it would seem that all devices in the Release Preview ring, and phones in the Slow ring (PCs on the Slow ring were updated to Redstone 2), are still on the previous cumulative update. Here's what's new:

• Improved reliability of Bluetooth and storage file system.

• Addressed issue causing printer drivers to not install correctly after installing security update KB317005.

• Addressed issue causing sign-in errors if a password is entered incorrectly or a new password doesn’t meet password complexity requirements after installing security update KB3167679.

• Addressed issue that required users to log out and log back in before using the application they installed using the Windows installer (MSI).

• Improved support for networks by adding new entries to the Access Point Name (APN) database.

• Addressed issue that was causing excessive battery drain on Windows 10 Mobile when connected to Wi-Fi.

• Addressed issue in which setting up both fingerprint and iris recognition sometimes causes the sign-in to fail on Windows 10 Mobile.

• Addressed issue that was causing high CPU usage on Windows 10 Mobile.

• Addressed additional issues with multimedia playback, revised daylight saving time, authentication, Internet Explorer 11, and Windows Shell.

• Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer 11, Windows registry, and diagnostics hub.

If your PC is still running Windows 10 version 1511, also known as build 10586 or the November Update, you'll see 10586.633. Here's what's included:

• Improved reliability of Internet Explorer 11, kernel mode drivers, downloading apps from the Store, and Windows graphics device interface (GDI).

• Addressed issue causing printer drivers to not install correctly after installing security update KB317005.

• Addressed issue causing sign-in errors if a password is entered incorrectly or a new password doesn’t meet password complexity requirements after installing security update KB3167679.

• Addressed issue that causes Internet Explorer 11 to fail sometimes when using a user-defined style sheet.

• Addressed issue where scrollbar position is reset after display property is set to none in Internet Explorer 11.

• Addressed issue where a script in a nested frameset may not run correctly in Microsoft Edge.

• Improved support for websites by updating the HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) preload list.

• Improved the upload of telemetry and download of telemetry settings in an authenticated proxy environment and support for Azure Active Directory (AAD).

• Addressed additional issues with revised daylight saving time, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer 11, and WebDAV.

• Security updates to kernel-mode drivers, Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows registry, and diagnostic hub.

Finally, there aren't many PCs that are still running the original Windows 10 build, but some businesses are. For those, you'll get 10240.17146.

• Improved reliability of Windows graphics device interface (GDI).

• Addressed issue causing printer drivers to not install correctly after installing security update KB317005.

• Addressed issue causing sign-in errors if a password is entered incorrectly or a new password doesn’t meet password complexity requirements after installing security update KB3167679.

• Addressed issue that causes Internet Explorer 11 to fail sometimes when using a user-defined style sheet.

• Improved support for networks by adding new entries to the Access Point Name (APN) database.

• Improved support for websites by updating the HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) preload list.

• Addressed issue with revised daylight saving time.

• Addressed additional issues with Internet Explorer 11 and licensing.

• Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer 11, kernel-mode drivers, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows registry, and diagnostic hub.

To be clear, if your Windows phone is still running build 10586 from the Insider Preview and is not supported for the Anniversary Update, you will not see a new cumulative update today. Those devices are no longer supported.

 

If you're on the Release Preview or Slow rings and you're not seeing the update, don't worry - it should show up soon.

Had a  power outage in the middle  of the update while it was  installing.  ended having  to do a system restore because it said i was up to date .. then the update was so slow, I ended up downloading the 779 mb update and installing offline . I was having a good day on Linux  tell I booted  in windows 10 and  tired to update today . Microsoft needs to get there act together you go read at Windows 10 Forums at all the people who it took them along time too update . If  I didn't need Windows for a few things id wipe it..  I could of installed Linux 5 times fooling with today's update

Hi,

Since i have updated to 14393.222, i can't get new insider builds.

Regarding to the Windows Insider Program in Windows, I see that my Windows account is not linked to Insider program, and i can't add a link.

The + button is not clickable and the Get started button too:

 

Have you any idea how to fix this ?

Thank god I had no power outages on any of the 3 main rigs I use. I did have that happen on another update in the past same thing had to wait days for it to install then eventually had to do a fresh install then the updates because it kept giving me some kernel error on restart and shutdown. Then other stuff stopped working and had issues but currently I'm good.
