It may soon be an extra exciting time to be a Windows Insider. Twitter user and Microsoft leaker @tfwboredom, otherwise known as “Core” has tweeted out some upcoming features which will be heading to new Windows Insider builds.

While nothing in the tweets are official, “Core” is a Microsoft leaker who has known to be correct in the past. The user notes that the features might be coming in a build this week or early next week, and then goes on to highlight some the features.

As per his tweets, the first set of features is the ability for Windows to differentiate between tablets and 2 in one devices. Next up are some buzzwords hinting at new recovery features, such as “Recover from the cloud” “Reinstall Windows from the manufacturer.” Third is a new feature called Login Certificates, which according to “Core,” serves the purpose of multiple automated device management. And lastly, new features for Windows Update, including new system apps, the Windows Holographic shell, and, “small changes to features here and there.”

As far as I know, Vista and Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 do not have a single feature that XP does not have that interests me in the least. But a Windows 7 iso is five times the size of an XP iso! What does all that code do?

I was wondering when the Microsoft dictionary-definition-abuse Marketing section was going to start referring to bugs as features...

To give credit where it's due though, it's a brilliant idea... with zero effort it doubles the number of features in their updates...

Just because you don't use the features now doesn't mean you won't in future of that they're any less relevant in a modern OS.
If DOS suits you just fine then use it and piss off, nobody wants to listen to what a basic end user wants (ie no development what so ever)

Luddites can go back to the deep dank holes they came from and stay there until death, this forum is no place for you.

Well... XP is only 32-Bit, so also only max. 3.2 GB RAM etc. That ended 10 years before.

There was also a XP 64-Bit version, but almost nothing works then.

Obviously, some users have a genuine need for more memory than a 32-bit system can address...but they are very few. I've never done any computing that required anything like that much memory...and I've done some very serious computing. (I suspect that Ryrynz, for example, wouldn't even understand the problem statement in many cases.)

I wish they would fix the bugs there are before implementing additional features.  I thought about trying windows xp sixty four bit and decided against it I think I made the right decision.  I have sixteen gigs of ram and am thinking about upgrading to thirty two gigs of ram and yes I would use it (eight gigs for my primary operating system and eight gigs for each vm I use.

Forget to take your meds, Ryrynz?

People that complain about progress are the reason the world is as it is today.

Humanity needs to be a ever progressive entity, cavemen can go back to their caves.

If Ryrynz actually believes what he says, he must think that any new software from Micro$oft is "progress"; presumably this would include Windows ME and Vista. Any rational person would respond to such an assertion with a hearty horse laugh.
