Batu69
Google Translate: Quote An update of the virus scanner Rising lands an infected file on the system, then it gets to spread Sality virus further. Who is using the free virus scanner Rising, should disable it immediately and remove it if possible. Because lands through the automatic update feature may the Sality virus on the system and infects this. First registered has the strange activities that antivirus test lab AV-Test , the test systems were infected after a start of Rising. Among other things, the scanner was conscan.exe the Saility virus infected. A more detailed analysis promoted to days that infection via a signature update was performed. Such a virus scanner update brings namely with not only new virus signatures but often new code, in the form of libraries and executables. With Rising virus so piggyback came with the update function. Meanwhile, the Chinese manufacturer has confirmed the problem and advises at least temporarily from the use of the scanner. Who watches the watchmen? "That just antivirus software einschleppt viruses, is a very questionable process," said Andreas Marx to heise Security. For protection against such infections, there are not: "It raises the question whether one would not have to undergo the AV updates before installing a virus test - but which system component should then do that?" Actually, the antivirus software Rising had the self-entrained virus can even recognize and need. Luckily only a few German users are likely to be affected by the problem, since the Chinese company has set the worldwide distribution some time ago. However, there is an English-language, free version. Anyone who has captured the Sality virus in this way, probably hardly comes around a new installation of its system. For cleaning around with another scanner is not recommended, as well as system files are affected by the infection and the system then is no longer stable under certain circumstances. Petrovic
ANTIVIRUS INFECTED SYSTEMS WITH SALITY VIRUS An update of the virus scanner Rising helps, by an infected file, to spread the Sality virus . Rising, a free virus scanner should be uninstalled fastest, the current update discharged the Salty virus on the system. The antivirus test lab AV-Test has found on their test systems strange activities that were infected by an update of the Rising scanner. This was caused by an update of the virus scanner conscan.exe was then infected with the Sality virus. Unfortunately, bringing not only updates new virus signatures but also new code with itself. The Chinese manufacturer has now confirmed that advises and currently it to use from the scanner. From Who guards are monitored? Concern is of course the antivirus software offer this option because there is unfortunately before a real protection not. Now, the obvious question whether or what updates are really needed, because the virus scanner Rising would actually have recognizable self. Since this scanner is probably not as widespread in Germany, the problem should not be so overpowering. The manufacturer has also worldwide sales recently hired. Affected systems should be rapidly re-installed because some system files are also affected, and thus a stable operation cannot be derived even after adjustment by a different virus scanners. They got caught for fraud or some shit years back and been never been trusted in the west since, You cant trust software from China anymore if it needs internet access . Quote Chinese Antivirus Companies Create the Viruses They Kill December 12, 2010 A well-placed Chinese security official has been given a suspended death sentence for taking bribes in exchange for his role in an antivirus software fraud scheme. Yu Bing, former director of the Internet monitoring department of Beijing’s Public Security Bureau, had his agency send out a “virus warning” telling the public to download software from the company Rising Antivirus, to combat a particular computer virus. But that virus was itself devised by Rising Antivirus, who bribed Yu to send out an email to drum up business, according to a Dec. 2 First Financial Daily report. The case is an example of how corrupt Communist Party officials work hand in glove with private companies to help the latter gain an unfair market advantage, then receive kickbacks for the trouble. The fact that Chinese software companies create the viruses they fight is an open secret in the industry, and something attested to by Yu. It’s also a sound moneymaking strategy and makes good business sense, according to industry insiders interviewed by Chinese media. “There would be no need for antivirus software if there were no viruses,” an executive of a well-known PC manufacturer was quoted in the press as saying. “Only by having more or deadlier viruses can antivirus software be in greater demand. Hence antivirus companies usually have special research and development people to make viruses. It is also helpful for improving the company’s technology in detecting and killing viruses.” Another software engineer told the First Financial Daily that in the 1990’s many antivirus companies adopted the strategy of creating viruses and then killing them. The phenomenon was somewhat restrained after 2000, he said. Liu Xu, former president of Rising Antivirus, and president and founder of Eastern Micropoint, said in a public statement at the end of 2008 that there are many gray areas for antivirus companies to make and spread viruses; many types of malware have been developed by otherwise legitimate companies, while other products hover in a gray area between virus and normal software. The rapid growth of Rising Antivirus demonstrates the enormous profit that can be made through the strategy of killing self-made viruses. Yu Bing, a former director of the network monitoring department of the Ministry of Public Security, embezzled 4.52 million yuan ($680K) and accepted a further 12.38 million yuan ($1.86 million) in bribes from four network firms, including an alleged 4.2 million yuan kickback ($630,000) from leading Chinese anti-virus firm Rising. In return, Yu started a bogus investigation against Micropoint, an antivirus start-up whose founder Liu Xu and vice-president Tian Yakui had previously worked for Rising. Micropoint was falsely accused of distributing malware in order to drum up business. Tian was framed for the supposed malware distribution plot and wrongly accused of stealing trade secrets. The charges were used to pressurising Liu into selling the firm to Rising. Yu also allegedly forwarded seized Micropoint computers to Rising as well as lobbying the official state-running testing centre against allowing the inspection and certification of Micropoint's software. Tian was jailed for 11 months before he was eventually cleared of wrongdoing. Meanwhile Micropoint's business was put on hold for three years, costing it an an estimated 30 million Yuan (US$4.39 million) in the process. Micropoint is considering a civil lawsuit against Rising, which denies any wrongdoing. Yu left China without permission in July 2008 before he was arrested on his return in September 2008. In August, Yu was found guilty of graft and corruption, and received a death sentence, suspended for two years. The Beijing Higher People's Court recently upheld this sentence at a recent hearing, The Global Times reports http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/12/13/chinese_anti_virus_corruption/
