Sylence Posted June 13, 2016 Share Posted June 13, 2016 Just hours after they removed her 50,000-strong group, “Stop Islamization Of America,” Facebook has issued prominent Islam critic Pamela Geller with a 30-day ban. Geller, who has previously been targeted for assassination by ISIS due to her criticism of Islam, was banned for a comment criticizing President Obama for neglecting to mention Islam or Muslims in his comments on yesterday’s terrorist attack in Orlando, Florida. According to Facebook, the message violated their community standards — but they did not specify which specific section of their standards was breached. Facebook did, however, provide a reason for their earlier removal of Geller’s “Stop Islamization Of America” page. According to the social media company, the 50,000 strong group, which had been live on Facebook since 2010, was “hateful.” Here’s the full text of Facebook’s email to Geller: The group “Stop islamization of America” has been removed because it violated our Terms of Use. Among other things, groups that are hateful, threatening, or obscene are not allowed. We also take down groups that attack an individual or group, or advertise a product or service. Continued misuse of Facebook’s features could result in your account being disabled. The suspension of one of the most prominent conservative critics of Islam, one day after the deadliest act of Muslim terrorism since 9/11 is extraordinary behaviour for Facebook,particularly given that they spent much of last month trying to convince the public that they aren’t biased against conservatives. In a post on her personal website, Geller slammed Facebook for their sudden censorship of her posts and her group. “Facebook has enormous power, and implements fascist sharia-compliant policies on free speech in the wake of unfathomable slaughter” wrote Geller. “Every freedom lover should be outraged.” Facebook did not respond to a request for comment. I know right , I'm agnostic and i don't believe in no belief system.. I don't come to Nsane to read about religion of any kind . The rules say don't even be discussing this kind of stuff so anything to do with this is just bait to get you in trouble if they ever decided to enforce it. As far as Facebook it could go offline tomorrow and Id never miss it . I've not even been on there in like 5 years and when i did go on there it was just to get free giveaways i made a account with fake info . However the use of "like" button clearly showed , that there is no acceptance for such tricks and cheap manipulation. Nsane folks simply didn't buy it. Forcing agressively your ideas of any kind down other Nsane members' throats - who additionally may not share the same viewpoint as you - should be considered OFFENSIVE and - as such - FORBIDDEN. If you just weren't taught that simple fact at home or school - you have to adopt it right now. It's one of the basic rules of universal etiquette. Nsane should definitely stay NEUTRAL . There is NO room for ANY KIND of political, religious, or social (gay included .!) propaganda./campaign.
