nsane.forums
The mobile web received a boost this week with the news that Opera Mini mobile phone browser users viewed more than 10 billion pages last month, according to the latest statistics (PDF) from the Norwegian browser developer. The figures for June showed an eight per cent increase over the previous month, with nearly 26.5 million unique users generating more than 168 million megabytes of data for operators worldwide. Nokia phones continue to be the handsets of choice for Opera Mini users, followed by Sony Ericsson in second place. Jon von Tetzchner, chief executive of Opera, explained that it is important for site owners to create sites that are as device-agnostic as possible. "More than 10 billion page views in one month underscores that the web is already the platform of choice for mobile devices," he said. "Web standards provide a more efficient way to create flawless sites across all devices. This 'One Web' strategy is more important than ever, as more people will view more pages on all manner of mobile phones." Opera Mini page views in the UK grew 117 per cent, and unique users 59 per cent, since June 2008, according to Opera. Facebook, Google and Yahoo were the top three mobile sites respectively. Administrator DKT27 Posted August 6, 2009 Administrator Share Posted August 6, 2009 I have heard about it thousand of times. It may be worth, I'm not against it. Atleast they should make their built-in browsers properly.
