Kathryn Smith has allegedly been stabbed in prison Kathryn Smith, 23, was jailed for a minimum term of 24 years after being found guilty of brutally killing her daughter Ayeeshia Jane Smith last month. The shamed mother’s face was allegedly slashed in the attack at a woman’s jail as 10 lags looked on. She is said to have screamed out from the pain as she was beaten and stabbed during a four-minute hammering in a stairwell not covered by CCTV. Her daughter Ayeeshia Jane Smith died aged 21 months from a rip to her heart that was said to be caused by a powerful foot stamp or from being violently shaken at the family home in Burton-Upon-Trent, Staffordshire. A source said the attack was carried out with a home-made knife and left the warped mother with a two centimetre slash across her cheek. A source who saw the assault told The Mirror: “There had been a lot of talk about attacking Smith, but most people wouldn’t go through with it as they don’t want time added on to their sentences. "But these two really went for it and left her in a bad way. Quote No one had any sympathy for Smith. Some staff were saying, ‘What goes around comes around’ The alleged attack took place at Foston Hall women’s prison and is said to house some of the UK’s most evil women, including Moors Murderer Myra Hyndley. Her partner, Matthew Rigby, 22, got three and a half years for causing or allowing the baby’s death. Smith was known to social services and Ayeeshia had been taken for four months once before.
