So it's official now.

 

Nice. I was expecting it to be called X80 though, 1080 will make people think it's made for 1080p screens.

The new GDDRX5 is giving 10 gbps of transfer rates. The pascal architecture houses lesser number of transistors onboard and has lower memory interface as well as CUDA cores and TDP than GTX 980 Ti. Yet it beats The most powerful maxwell. This is awesome.

Yes, GDDR5X is quite a good improvement, but the whole performance increase comes from going from 28mn to 16nm here.

Yep, at the beginning everything costs more. But then the sales starts falling forcing the cost to fall as well.

I would recommend gamers to get the GTX 980/GTX970 when the GTX 1080/1070 is released as the price got 980 and 970 would surely drop.
