Batu69
More annoying bugs have been addressed in RC2 The Kodi development team, through Martijn Kaijser, announced earlier today, March 28, 2016, the availability of the second RC (Release Candidate) build for the first point release in the Kodi 16 "Jarvis" series. Kodi 16.0 has been announced a month ago, on February 21, 2016, and it looks like it will soon get its first maintenance release, which should fix many of the issues reported by users or discovered by the project's developers since the release of the Kodi 16.0 "Jarvis" media center. Today's Kodi 16.1 Release Candidate 2 fixes several bugs since the RC1 build seeded to public beta testers in the first week of March 2016, and among the changes, we can mention DirectX rendering improvements, a patch for a crash with JSON-RPC on the Mac OS X and iOS platforms, as well as a freeze when there was no ADSP add-on present. "Once a ‘final’ version is released some new bugs and/or problems usually appear out of nowhere, and this release is no exception," said Martijn Kaijser. "To counter some of these new issues, we’re bringing you this maintenance release candidate called 16.1 RC2 which has some additional fixes on top of the 16.0." Add-ons directories are no longer cached Besides the changes mentioned above, the second Release Candidate of Kodi 16.1 "Jarvis" implements the ability for the software to no longer cache add-ons directories, addresses a typo that occurred when forced ratio sizes were being calculated, and adds up to 20% performance boost when opening EPG guide windows. Last but not least, the missing libgif.so library has been added to the Android package, a security issue with Kodi's EventServer component has been fixed by only allowing localhost connections, and the /mnt/runtime path is now being ignored on Android devices, which should increase the overall performance. Download Kodi 16.1 RC2 for GNU/Linux, Android, Mac OS X, iOS, Microsoft Windows, and other supported platforms right now. Below the entire changelog for more details about the changes, and try to keep in mind that this is a pre-release version, not suitable for production use.
