100% detection rate? LOL

...based on the samples.... of course prepared by whom made and provided the results...

But basically yeah --- 100% protection is a placebo or wishful thinking ;]

even page 2 of the PDF says:

We would like to point out that while some products may sometimes be able to reach 100% protection
rates in a test, it does not mean that these products will always protect against all threats on the
web. It just means that they were able to block 100% of the widespread malicious samples used in a
test.

What it is really saying is you give us enough money and we will rig the tests to show your product in a favorable light.  I have never trusted AV-Comparatives because it is obvious that their tests are rigged.  A more accurate evaluation, without any ranking, is AV-Test.org.  They just publish the facts and let the user decide which is best after perusing the results for themselves.  Trend Micro and F-Secure beat BitDefender!  Only in your dreams.

Some of you are missing a bigger picture here. It's not about 100% in this test, it's about consistency over several months. Just look all the real-word tests done by AV-C and observe who is constantly and continuously in top places. Kaspersky, BitDefender, Trend Micro, sometimes AVIRA. Also Panda Free which is for some reason missing here.

Sure there is no such thing as 100% detection, but for the given samples, they've detected 100% of them. And sure, one such tests doesn't mean much as scores can fluctuate A LOT. But when more of them have the same pattern, you can form an opinion. Kaspersky sure is damn good. They invest a lot in protection modules, opposed to some other vendors who rather invest in other silly things not even related with protection...

Also, these charts that start at 80% are rubbish. Either from 0-100% or don't even bother because visual perception of such charts is entirely skewed and you have to only look at numbers, not graphs.

Just for reference only, does not guarantee the actual !

The best reference  is  you're  experience level , If you dont  know much about PCs and dont care about  it slowing you're system down.   I recommended the biggest piece of  bloatware on the market with all the bells and whistles. Ive not  had no trouble since like 2008 with malware ..So I just keep NOD32 installed just in case , I install my favorite Firewall app separate,  also i use a adblocker , script blocker ,  and some other security enhancing addons and run on demand  scans  with other antimalware tools from time to time. and it dont slow my system down any .

And I've been fine for many years every since I left XP  and the x86 platform Ive not needed no real bloated realtime . Before I switched  to NOD32 in 2014. i just used Avast Free form 2011 though sometime in 2014  with basically  the same set up . Back before 2011 i used  Kaspersky when I was on XP..

Trend Micro, ThreatTrack Vipre can not at the top and compare with Kaspersky, Bitdefender.

I've used for years and saw the Kaspersky Internet Security it quickly detect malicious websites. I totally believe Kaspersky, it deserves to head the rankings.

I am amazed of ESET result. Too low. AVG and Avast better than ESET? I don't think so.

If we are quite honest, NOD32 always felt uninspiring after the transition to version 3.x and upwards. When it had that old narrow and tall interface I remember it was pretty spectacular. And I really liked its looks as well as performance. But now, it's just meh. Quite the same as avast! if I'm honest and I used t be a huge fan of avast!.

Then again, despite AVG always being meh, they apparently woke up a bit. Since integration of the behavior analysis module they bumped up protection quite a lot and recent inclusion of proper cloud functionality, they bumped it up even higher. Interface is still stupid as hell with that Zen crap and they still insist on stupid 24 hour update cycles for free version, but they are certainly doing something with detection/protection.
