jayesh30202
Earlier this year the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office published a patent application from Samsung that reveals a possible future design twist to their Galaxy Note Pen. Users will be able to pull the Samsung pen halfway out of its integrated holder and simply bend and lock it into position so that it doubles as a stand as noted in the patent figures below. Once bent and locked, users will be able to keep their devices in landscape or portrait mode to watch movies or interact with other apps without having to purchase a special cover that offers this same feature. When the exposed part of the Samsung pen is bent at the joint, the half remaining in the pen's holding groove is automatically locked into position to provide the user with a sturdy stand. When the pen is re-bent to its straightened position, the lock is automatically disengaged to allow the pen to be removed or inserted back fully into its resting groove. Samsung filed their U.S. patent application back in Q3 2015. Considering that this is a patent application, the timing of such a product to market is unknown at this time. source
