humble3d
We're on a collision course with the Andromeda Galaxy Photo slide show...via the link below... An epic war is coming between our home galaxy and the Andromeda Galaxy, which is currently racing toward us at a speed of 250,000 mph. Astronomers estimate that 3.75 billion years from now, Earth will be caught up amid the largest galactic event in our planet's history, when these two giant galaxies collide. Luckily, experts think that Earth will survive, but it won't be entirely unaffected. The collision will unfold right in front of us, changing the night sky to look like nothing any human has seen before. Join us on a journey into the future to see what it will be like: http://www.businessinsider.com/outcome-of-earth-when-our-galaxy-collides-with-the-andromeda-galaxy-2016-

Administrator DKT27 Posted January 23, 2016 Administrator Share Posted January 23, 2016 Not exactly news. Infact it has a Wiki page for it. However, as the news article that is written is new, I'll keep this here. 3.5B years. Well, Earth itself is of 4.5B years. Not sure if it should matter to us though. RejZoR
This has been known ever since I'm alive. I literally know this from elementary school. Like 3 decades ago. There is also such wast emptiness in galaxies that even if they "collide", chances of anything within galaxies actually colliding (planets on planets) is highly unlikely. Though things may change, like shifts due to gravitational forces. Even if there is no collision, planet sized object passing Earth would affect things. Especially if it's a gas giant class like Jupiter or even bigger. Lets wait and see
