This is one of the main reason to move to Ubuntu Touch OS. The main benefit  Of Ubuntu Touch is lifetime free upgrade to builds from latest version of Ubuntu OS, better security than nasty Android[filled with bugs neither patched by Google nor by manufacturer/carrier for newer & older devices], no spying/tracking/pre-installed bloatware & malware activities by  manufacturer or Google, no backdoor and many more benefits.

People all over the world had to welcome Ubuntu Touch based devices and encourage developers which in-turn increases market and attract more apps like WhatsApp to be included.

I have a samsung galaxy SFive and I have received alot of system updates this year all without having to manually check for updates to.  The vulnerability that worried me most is the vulnerability with the swiftkey software (I think thats what its called).  When I end up getting my ativan I can remove all the pre-installed apps from it and completely revamp it.  I dont have any complaints with updates unless there is a particular exploit or vulnerability that was disclosed and the should have updated by now and they havent.

Thats a nice move, that will make companies to provide timely updates.I have galaxy duos but it is old and 512 ram but for models like this with limited hardware capability, don,t think will run smoothly if updated to latest versions....
