donizme
This thread is a place to discuss rumours/leaks/reports/and the occasional fact about Windows 7 final RTM! So is build 7600 the final RTM? ;) Many websites say Yes, others report others saying Yes, etc... However, I have found some critical information which 'proves' that it's not the RTM. 1. The opening line of the EULA in build 7600 says:MICROSOFT PRE-RELEASE SOFTWARE LICENSE TERMSMICROSOFT WINDOWS 7 OPERATING SYSTEM RELEASE CANDIDATEPre-release? Now why would Microsoft put that in the final RTM?2. The last line of the EULA in build 7600 says:EULAID:Win7_RC.1_Ult_NRL.EVL_en-USRC1? Maybe this means that it's the RC of the final RTM? That's what I think anyway. 3. Everyone was expecting Microsoft to announce the final RTM at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in New Orleans today (13th July 2009). But they didn't.4. So why has the build jumped to 7600? PC Magazine(very reliable) has Microsoft sources saying this:Microsoft often maintains internal builds with higher numbers that still have a way to go before release.5. Microsoft Spokesman:Contrary to the wide reports that we have an RTM build and plan to announce it today, we will do neither," said a Microsoft representative who asked not to be named. "I'm not sure where the report of the 13th originated, but it's nothing we've confirmed and it's simply false. We will RTM before the end of the month as previously announced. Administrator Lite Posted July 14, 2009 Administrator Share Posted July 14, 2009 7600 is the final build. It all depends on which subversion becomes final. For example the leaked build has the full version number: 7.7600.16384.090710-1945. The "proper" RTM could be 16385, 16386 etc.
