straycat19
I find AV-Comparatives to be somewhat unreliable. There scores don't necessarily match those of AV-Test.org which displays the test results by OS since different versions of windows don't test the same with the same AV software. Also AV-Test does not rank or recommend software, they simply test and give the results, it is up to the user to interpret them and choose an AV program. Anytime an institution starts ranking software there is always the chance that they are taking payoffs to give software a good ranking because people see that 'award' as a recommendation. I am not going to point fingers but some of the Top rated AV programs at AV-Comparatives I would never use, because their real capabilities are much lower than reflected there. kraftwerk
All testers are ranking software. Only the presentation of the results is different. All of them may (or may not) be taking payoffs. It is biased to accuse only one of them based just in the form of presenting data. One could even say that if someone is taking payoffs, they will probably present the results in a more subtle form. AV-Test has awards, points, "certified", scores, numbers, etc. just as much if not more-so than AV-Comparatives. Imo Comparatives also does a much more thorough job.
