An update for the app has been released earlier today

W10Privacy is one of the applications that can help you block Windows 10 from sending information from your computer to Microsoft, and an update released today adds support for Threshold 2 (TH2) too.

Windows 10 TH2 is the latest update released by Microsoft for its new operating system and brings plenty of new features and app improvements.

But as many users have reported in the last few days, TH2 seems to reset the default Windows 10 settings, and in some cases, privacy-obsessed adopters might be concerned that their information is again submitted to Microsoft.

Windows 10 was said to have a privacy issue, as the operating system automatically collected and submitted some data from users' computers to Microsoft servers. And this is why apps like W10Privacy enjoyed such an unexpected success.

Threshold 2 success

According to the official change log, W10Privacy version 1.8.0.0 comes with support for the November update, so it can also remove new apps that Microsoft added in this release, including Messaging.

At the same time, the new version also brings a number of fixes to tools implemented to disable fixes, as the developing team discovered that, in some cases, not everything works as it should.

While this kind of apps could come in very handy to those who want to make sure that their privacy isn't invaded by the operating system, Microsoft doesn't recommend anyone to turn to such programs because they could have a dramatic impact on system performance. Some features could stop working correctly, Microsoft warns, and OS updates might not arrive at all. Additionally, system stability could also be impacted, Redmond says.

If you're ready to take the risk and start using such apps, you can just go ahead and download W10Privacy to make sure that Windows 10 TH2 doesn't violate your privacy by sending data to Microsoft.

This is probably the best of all W10 privacy programs. Its advanced options require attention from novice users (unknown options best left alone if you don't know what you are doing).

If it doesn't even let you download it... then clearly ESET sucks.

How do you get Esset sucks because it has a false positive ? Every antivirus has them. I think its because its generic.

ESET Really doesn't want me to download this file, numerous trojan alerts.

Its it because you have PUP detection enabled ?

I don't have windows 10 so I don't have this problem of needing this program .

No, I was quite clear: it sucked because it wouldn't even allow the download. A false positive is one thing, not allowing you to download what you want is quite another so if that's indeed the case, it sucks big time.

It cant stop you from downloading it though .all you have to do is disable it in the tray and then download it and add it to exclusions and turn it back on and it want bother you no more .

Yes, that's a lot of work for a simple download and quite bad practice having to disable the entire protection, in order to allow the user to download a file of his/her choice.

Ive been using ESET since the summer 2014 over a year now on this go around and it has far less false positives and uses less resources than anything i tested in recent years . Every Antivirus has false positives some do more than others . But one are 2 is nothing like NOD32 gives compared to some . Really its a good antivirus it does not suck.

Again, I'm not talking about false positives.

I have eset nodthirtytwo and its updated and I just downloaded the file its fine it didnt stop me and NO eset nodthirtytwo doesnt suck its considered the best antivirus kaspersky norman and eset nodthirtytwo antiviruses are considered the best norman was back in nineteen ninety eight now norman isnt as much kaspersky and eset are as strong as they were in nineteen ninety eight if not stronger I use eset and never have problems with it dont blame eset its not software its the user I think. If its not the user it a different softwares fault dont blame eset nodthirtytwo like I said I just downloaded the file and eset didnt stop me didnt flag it as a trojan nothing and its updated and I know what Im doing it stopped you from downloading it thats what a antivirus is supposed to do it wouldnt flag a file as potentially unwanted program or software or a malware infection and then not quarantine the file that would make the antivirus software incompetent and trust me eset nodthirtytwo is NOT incompetent.
