Batu69
StatCounter data shows that European adoption is on the rise Desktop OS share in Europe in October 2015 Statistics provided by Net Applications show that Windows 10 adoption has slowed down after a very enthusiastic debut in late July and August, but it appears that the number of users who actually install the OS in Europe is significantly bigger than in the rest of the world. Figures collected by StatCounter show that Windows 7 continues to be the number one desktop operating system on the Old Continent with a share of 46.05 percent, but its score is obviously decreasing as more people move to Windows 10. Windows 8.1 continues to hold the second position with 14.43 percent, but these are also declining numbers due to the arrival of Windows 10 and the free upgrade that’s being made available for users. Windows 10’s performance Windows 10, on the other hand, is the third desktop operating system in the charts with a share of 12.19 percent, which shows that if the same growth rate is maintained, it has big chances to overtake Windows 8.1 and become the second most used desktop platform on the continent. What’s more encouraging is not only that Windows 10 managed to overtake Windows XP, the OS version that no longer receives updates and security patches since April 2014, but also that it got really close to Windows 8.1. The biggest challenge, however, is to overtake Windows 7, which won’t clearly happen overnight and Microsoft is well aware of that. Windows 7 support expires in January 2020, and the Redmond-based tech giant needs to prepare for this critical moment in order to make sure that when the time comes, there will not be many on this particular OS version. What’s more, Microsoft has a goal of bringing Windows 10 on 1 billion devices by 2017, so moving as many users as possible off Windows 7 could be a way to shoot two birds with one stone. Time will tell if this goal can be achieved, but for the moment, Windows 10 is on the rise and Windows 7 seems to be going down. steven36
Wordwide startcounter says they got to grow another 5 % before they become the 2nd most used O/S but then there in for the long haul to be number 1Netmarketshare says about the samething about windows 10But look what there competing against and O/S that's not got a real update in over a year and a O/S that was never liked to begin with ..besides Windows 10 is free other M$ OS are not . :PAlso you got take in account M$ considers windows 8 and 8.1 are the same O/S so these results are tainted because all 8.1 is like a sp to windows 8. ;)

steven36
Remember when windows 10 is forced on all xboxes on november 12 they will include them in the numbers of divices running windows 10.This is another reason a lot are staying with Windows 7 they own PlayStation instead of XBox . windows 10 only adds better compatibly for there own products.you can get a PSTV for as low as $50 so why would you want use windows 10 with it . :PWe are basically heading towards a future where you are either a PlayStation User (PS4/PSTV/PSVita), an Apple User (MAC/AppleTV/iPhone), a Google User (Chromebook/Chromecast/Android), or a Microsoft User (Windows 10/XBO/Windows Phone).
