owards the end of last week, Intel announced plans to stop selling McAffee SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) email security products, putting an EOL timeline for a series of services.

The affected products are McAffee Email Archiving, Email Encryption, and Email Protection & Continuity.

Plans are for the company to stop allowing new customers to order the products starting January 11, 2016, but to allow existing customers to renew their subscriptions until January 11, 2019.

Depending on the number of clients for each service, Intel does not rule out providing support until 2021, but the company is advising that webmasters should migrate to other solutions in the meantime.

Intel recommended Proofpoint's service as an alternative solution, and as a result, the company's stock rose 18% after the partnership was announced.

"We are working to create an integrated system that delivers faster protection, detection and correction. To create that security system, we are investing in solutions for the endpoint, cloud, threat detection, and management that will ensure the security of the endpoint and cloud and all data traversing in between," said Intel, explaining its recent decision. "Increasing our investments in these critical areas required exiting other product areas such as McAfee email security solutions."

Intel has also promised instructions to help clients move their current services to Proofpoint's services.

To bad Intel don't retire all McAffee products that's the problem . McAffee don't make McAffee anymore Intel does . If you buy a PC with a Intel processor they come bundled with McAffee.

McAffee is kind of like adware it comes bundled in PCs or as a 3rd party gift on other free software . :P
