Steps before Installation:

From an Older version of Ubuntu:

If you’re already running Ubuntu, you can upgrade in a few clicks from Software Updater.

From Windows:

If you’re using Windows 8 or any computer with a 64-bit processor, we recommend the 64-bit download.

From Mac OS X:

Most Macs with Intel processors will work with either 64-bit or Mac images. If the 64-bit image doesn't work, try the Mac image.

Try before Install:

There’s no need to replace your operating system to try Ubuntu.

Fix Brightness:

  2. Edit the grub file:
    sudo nano /etc/default/grub***If it doesn't work in Ubuntu 15.10, use thissudo gedit /etc/default/grub
  3. Replace this line:
    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
  4. To this:

    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_backlight=vendor"
  5. Save[Press "Ctrl+O" and Press "Enter"] and exit the file[Press Ctrl+X].

  6. Now update grub:

  7. Then Close the Terminal and Restart.

Enable hibernate:

    sudo pm-hibernate
    and press enter to check if Hibernation works.
  2. If so, then open Terminal and type
    sudo nano /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/com.ubuntu.enable-hibernate.pkla

    and press enter.

  3. Type password and press Enter.

  4. Once it is opened, type the below:

    [Re-enable hibernate by default in upower]Identity=unix-user:*Action=org.freedesktop.upower.hibernateResultActive=yes[Re-enable hibernate by default in logind]Identity=unix-user:*Action=org.freedesktop.login1.hibernate;org.freedesktop.login1.hibernate-multiple-sessionsResultActive=yes

So if we download this ISO;64 bit - http://releases.ubun...sktop-amd64.iso,we can choose our desired language ,during installation ??

Yes, even regions ( like UK english and USA english, which has for example the "s" spelled "z" in USA's english)

Ex: Finilaized (USA format) Finalised (UK or British format)

In case you installed it in english, you can change the language at setting panel and reboot the language will be changed for the UI.

Change language from Ubuntu: https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubuntu-help/session-language.html

If you don't care about using many Windows programs or playing games and don't mind installing stuff though command prompt then Linux is for you . I

use a different distro. Linux Mint witch has all codecs and stuff already installed still i had to upgrade VLC through the terminal to get x265 videos to play. If you never used Linux before you should dual boot it and try it before you decide to replace windows with it or not its not the same thing . I have Windows 10 on one HHD and Linux Mint on another HHD.
