So far I know, 64 bit windows never accepts non WHQL certified drivers. Even for 64 bit WinPE making, the system needed patching (from Winbuilder) to add unsigned drivers within this. MasterFaster Posted October 22, 2015 Share Posted October 22, 2015 @hawk007, please don't confuse WHQL signature with digital signature.A driver can be digitally signed by the developer without WHQL signature/certification and can be installed in x64 Windows 7/8/8.1/10.For example: NVIDIA's beta drivers, don't have WHQL signature/certification, they are though digitally signed by NVIDIA and can be installed in x64 OSAnother example: My ASUS Xonar DX driver has digital signature by C-Media and can be installed in x64 Windows 10. It doesn't have WHQL certification.Thus when you install a non WHQL driver that has digital signature you may see a prompt that asks you if you want to install the driver (it also has a check box, if you want to always install drivers that come from the developer that signed the driver).My Win 10 x64 is not patched or modified and I haven't enabled test mode.
