Sup.

Keep getting this, after sleep or reboot.

I have tried all three choices and it still appears.

Any ideas on how to remove?

Thanks in advance.

u will see how to fix it i have had this a longtime ago its a easy one to fix

try things like disable this function follow these instructions:

  1. From IE's Tools menu, choose Internet Options.
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. Click the Custom Level button.
  4. Locate the setting Don't prompt for client certificate selection when no certificates or only one certificate exists, and click the Enable radio button.

Thank You knowledge I will give it a try.

I too had this when using XP and forgot about how to fix it.

I have followed your prompts and let you know when I sleep or reboot.

Thanks

Did not fix the problem, so will try something else, thanks for input!

It means either the web site has a unsigned cert or is on the blacklist with IE. Do what knowledge said to not display popup.

But perhaps you are using Adguard + Firefox or Chrome, or Opera, ....
Then there is the matter Adguard settings.
(I can not be well understood, but it seems somehow very familiar)

Sorry, if I'm wrong.

This has happened to me because ... the day and time were not right.

Make sure your system is set on the right time and day.

Hope it helps.

I have not installed a new version of adguard, I update daily and still no program update.

Internet Explorer is my default.

I restored my system to 11th August 2015 and still get the pop-up.

I don't get the pop-up when installing software only if I reboot or come out of sleep.

Time is always correct on my system it is updated hourly by atomic clock (or Atomic cloc on latest version).

The certificate is issued by ParkingCrew.com a domain parking service so I wonder why your system keeps going to that domain. I believe this was previously NameDrive.com so the certificate would reflect the difference in the name and show the error. I would be more concerned that something is directing your computer to that domain than trying to stop the popup. I would flush my dns cache, delete all the history and temporary internet files, and run malwarebytes on the system and do a deep scan. Then I would run ComboFix. This all depends on your comfort level and experience with windows. Before doing that you could go into Internet Options in IE and Restore Advanced Settings and then Reset and check all the boxes, but I don't think this will fix the problem.

Check your root certificates and remove it if its there....

http://www.thewindowsclub.com/certmgr-msc-certificate-manager-windows

Edit this may help more..Its for superfish but it explains how to remove certificates better

http://www.ghacks.net/2015/02/23/privdog-is-superfish-all-over-again/

  • Tap on the Windows-key, type mmc.exe and hit enter.
  • Go to File -> Add/Remove Snap-in
  • Pick Certificates, click Add
  • Pick Computer Account, click Next
  • Pick Local Computer, click Finish
  • Click OK
  • Look under Trusted Root Certification Authorities -> Certificates

BTW You can use the above to remove the AdGuard certificate if you uninstall AdGuard for any reason.

Thanks for the advice, did this already.

I visited the site for some reason, which I cannot remember.

Then this.

Sup.

I found out where this certificate is stored.

See image:

I unchecked server authentication.

I cannot just solely delete it for some reason, anyone know why not?

  • 4 months later...

Hello again pop pickers.

Anyone see the New Years Concert from Vienna? It's currently showing high lights on U.K. B.B.C. 2 H.D. and Digital.

A rare treat and makes me cry.

Any way, I think I solved this problem finally.

It's sticky password that caused this problem, as when I went to start (paste in CERTMGR.MSC) and click link, viewed all certificates and found all names Thwate, disabled them all and rebooted, no pop-up.

So I thought, great sorted, however sticky password would not work, till I re-enabled them.

So Cats, that is the problem now to contact the vendor and ask for help.

Just to add I disabled all certificates named ''thawte Primary Root CA - G2'' (without quotes).

Seems to have fixed it, however I think it has stopped Alcohol starting up, will monitor it.

Just a F.Y.I. I by disabling the mentioned named certificates, problem has gone.

Also I noticed an increase in system speed.

So maybe this thread is closed.

Thanks for all the reading and advice
