PFI file lost, how to recover the backup without it?

Hey guys!!!!!

I'm in a trouble that i can't get out alone hahaha.

I did the backup with Paragon software and i lost the .PFI file (the backup's information file).

Someone know a method to generate/recover/create this file, because without this i can't (atleast i don't know how to) recover my backup.

Please some help here.

Thanks adv!

What stops you from creating a fresh, new backup?

But i already did the format in computer, i just need a way to recover/create/generate the PFI information file to recover that backup, got it?

You mean — before performing a format, you did not check whether the backup tool was ready and fully complete. A5qMhta.gif

No... just put this in your mind: "Chiitus lost the file necessary to the Paragon's software recognize the informations from backup."

I have all backup's files, but i can't do anything because i lost the 2MB information file. Got it now?

Something I always wanted to ask — did you lose the PFI . . . . . . . . . . or, was it Chiitus? lEMe01Z.gif

I would suggest you directly ask Paragon support, doing a reformat without being sure the actual backup is working and complete, isn't the brightest idea.

That's like having new rims for a car you don't have. :s

You can't restore it anymore and you probably won't be able to re-create it, the only thing left is working with what is still there, maybe Paragon has internal tools for accidents like yours. Worth a try asking them for it.

No no, you are not confused — the truth is you created a backup on your HDD and then decided to format that same HDD. :o

Backing-up my system volume only, with Acronis using a core i7 which translates into a 30 GB .tib file on a 7,200 rpm HDD takes approximately about 14 to 22 minutes - a restore of the same takes me about 11 to 16 minutes.

In the sector of backup/restore, choosing a solution based on the time factor is the most foolish decision a prospective new Entrant to this segment, can possibly make - it will reward the User with the most sorrowful penalty, indeed.

Omg, i did the right process, it's a software fault, not mine.
