Karamjit
The app has finally received a new look for Windows 10VLC is one of the best multimedia players on the desktop, and the developing team behind the project is working hard to bring most of the features on modern Windows as well, so today VideoLAN has announced a major update for the Windows 10 version of the app. VLC for Windows 10, as it's usually referred to, is now officially called VLC for Windows Store, which makes more sense, given the fact that, in Windows 10, the application will be available on both the desktop and as a universal app published in the store. The store version comes with a new UI that brings it in line with Windows 10, showing music recommendations right in the home screen and providing a music library with an artists view to easily manage your music collection. “The UI has been updated to match the new Windows 10 style. It’s also faster on the low-end devices like a Surface RT and Lumia 520, 620. We added some pretty animations, and also a beta version of a Win2D component (thanks for the move to MIT license!) for the background slideshow,” Thomas Nigro, one of the leading VideoLAN developers, explains. Mini player and better searchThe application also comes with a mini player on Windows 10, which makes it really helpful if you're using it to listen to music, but also with a better search engine that's supposed to be a lot faster than the previous version. And because customization is what users have always liked, VLC for Windows Store comes with a new settings screen that provides you with access to UI, Video, and Music settings. Needless to say, the application is offered completely free of charge and can already be found in the Windows Store if you are on Windows 10. The mobile version should be there in just a few days, the developing team says. Overall, it's very encouraging to finally see high-quality apps arrive on Windows 10, so go ahead and download VLC for Windows Store to see what this is all aboutFrom

Encourage folks to shift to x64-bits — many are unaware that madVR supports x64-bits. About the audio part, I am a poor and unqualified judge (pretty much incapable of discerning the finer nuances of music.) :P

Amigaspace
So what does the VLC Store version offer that the Desktop version doesn't? Split OS personality started with Windows 8 continues. As for other players, go for MPC-HC with madVR. If you want better audio quality, go for MPC-BE which offers Wasapi output and few other changes/improvements.

First of all, the user interface has received a major overhaul to match the new Windows 10 style. The app is supposed to run faster on lower-end devices like the Surface RT and Lumia 520/620. There are new animations and a beta version of the Win2D component. The app also features improvements to the music library, video library, search, and more.http://www.winbeta.org/news/vlc-windows-10-gets-new-name-hundreds-bugfixes-and-cool-new-features :)Sounds buggy as :shit: Known issues AudioAudio may not work after playing some videos/songs. Steve Lhomme is trying to fix this and the fix should be available in the next updateVideoHardware decoding doesn’t work; we’re still working on it, it’s experimental.http://blog.thomasnigro.fr/2015/08/07/vlc-1-5-on-the-road-to-windows-10/If Hardware decoding doesn’t work; that means its not going to work for DXVA . Ill stick with pot player and mpc were ether will work with madVR :naughty:
heyyahblah
LMAO at a LAPTOP or PC user using the APP version of VLC. Why not just stick with the regular Win32 API instead of this forced APP CRAP? LMAO, stupid Microsoft hipsters. But ppl already deleted their store App as part of DoNotSpy :tehe:Sorry, if I want childish crAPPS I will play with them on my android or my girlfriends stupid ipad. Otherwise no crAPPS on an OPERATING SYSTEM for me. Not interested in paying for crAPP on a Windows gaming and video editing machine.
