Batu69
This system is expected to be removed on July 29Back in October when Microsoft kicked off the Windows Insider program and allowed everyone to download pre-release versions of Windows 10, many accused the company of installing “keyloggers” on users' computers, as many of the things they were doing on their PCs was logged and sent to Redmond for improving the OS experience. Despite the fact that it was pretty much obvious that telemetry data will be collected because it was a program whose main purpose was to get feedback and help improve Windows 10, Microsoft announced at that time that this system would be removed once the operating system hits RTM and ships in final form. Windows 10 reportedly hit RTM this week and build 10240, which is considered to be at least and RTM candidate, is now up for grabs for insiders, but you have to keep in mind that the telemetry system is still there until July 29. Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, confirmed that data is still collected, but this will stop on July 29 should you choose to get out of this feedback program and stick to the stable version of the operating system. Microsoft privacy statementIn case you're wondering what kind of data Microsoft might be interested in, the privacy statement updated in July 2015 has more info on this: “Microsoft collects data to operate effectively and provide you the best experiences with our services. You provide some of this data directly, such as when you create a Microsoft account, submit a search query to Bing, speak a voice command to Cortana, upload a document to OneDrive, or contact us for support. We get some of it by recording how you interact with our services by, for example, using technologies like cookies, and receiving error reports or usage data from software running on your device. We also obtain data from third parties (including other companies).” Before accusing Microsoft for spying on you and using terms such as keyloggers, think that the Windows Insider program was designed with feedback in mind, so you kind of agreed with this when you joined it. At the same time, Microsoft itself warned that Windows 10 should not be used on your main systems until it becomes available in stable form, so there's absolutely no reason to complain about this as long as you want to run preview builds of the new OS. @sitemeer Telemetry is still collected based on your opt-in level, you can learn more under Settings >Privacy > Feedback & Diagnostics — Gabriel Aul (@GabeAul) July 17, 2015Source

Sylence
Windows 10 build 10240 is RTM but all these leaked versions are Insider RTMs. the Windows 10 RTM that Microsoft shipped to hardware manufacturers few days ago doesn't collect data, so where is that version now? Beside, only LIMITED EDITION BRAIN'S thinks Build (which are currently available via upgrade / decrypting ESD) 10240 is Final RTM (Microsoft always changes even what they promise) . . . Moreover, have been using 10240 from last 3 days , , & yes it still have Windows Telementry process (Diagnostics Tracking Service) to collect Data via background process (though it can easily be stopped manually)

Holmes
The telemetry system is going to be in place with the RTM version only if the rtm version is being used as a windows insider. The telemetry system is used only in windows insider program. I dont know if you can disable it or not using diagnostics tracking service I dont see why microsoft would make it simple to disable. Maybe the service controls part of the telemetry system and allows you to disable some of it. I do know from common sense and putting two and two together that the telemetry system is only in place for windows insider program if Im wrong show me proof that im wrong.. Holmes
The telemetry system /w keylogger is only in place for feedback for windows insiders and f your using a beta windows insider version of windows the telemetry system /w keylogger is going to be in place. Once you opt out of the wwindows insider program you stop receiving beta builds that have the telemetry system /w keylogger in them and the one your using is going to expire. If you stop using windows insider and upgrade your windows seven or eight product to windows ten to the final version it is tnot going to have the telemetry system as far as the keyloggers are concerned. If I get a error in windows seven and it the type of error that tells you to send it to microsoft and see if they have a solution available thats also the telemetry system but it doesnt include a keylogger only windows beta build's include a keylogger. Why would microsoft put a keylogger in something that isnt beta makes no sense. There are no windows seven windows insider builds (same as windows eight). Windows insider beta builds are for windows ten only obviously. WIndows ten build 10240 still collects data because its not the final version. No matter what windows ten you have home or pro if your using a version in the windows insider program it collects data. Technically rtm ist for manufacturers only and manufacturers that get the rtm version are probably working with microsoft and thats why they collect data.Has microsoft ever offered its customers rtm that are not beta testing I dont think that have if a rtm version becomes available its from a leak.. Holmes
I hope I answered your question. I completely understand why microsoft is collecting data and Im pretty sure if your not opt in for windows insider you dont have to worry about the keylogger. The diagnostics tracking service is available in windows seven to. Do you think microsoft is using the keylogger on windows seven and windows eight I dont think they are. If the rtm has the system in place its because its a rtm candidate meaning beta like RCone two three which is beta..

Why would microsoft put a keylogger in something that isnt beta makes no sense. There are no windows seven windows insider builds (same as windows eight). Why? because Microsoft already told us that even after Windows 10 final, they will keep releasing Windows insider builds, so it's probably what you should be worried about especially if you're one of those who is interested in using KMS activators and relies on non-official download links of Windows. Take Windows 8.1 for example, if you don't have a legal Windows product key, you'll find Windows 8.1 downloads on the web with latest integrated updates of June 2015. It was first Windows 8.1 RTM and then latest updates and patches were integrated with it. you can find untouched Windows 8.1 MSDN too, which was officially released for MSDN members and got leaked out but it's reliable and you can activate and update it.So my point is, will we see the same thing (download links) for Windows 10 too without the telemetry service used in Windows insider ? Holmes
I know and as long as you keep opted in to windows insider then the telemetry system is in place and microsoft is going to continue the windows insider program after the final product is released correct. Im going to continue as a windows insider because Im a beta tester and therefore Ill be using the buiild with the telemetry system /w keylogger in it I dont mind its beta. As for download links for windows ten for windows insider there is not going to be download links specifically without telemetry system if I understand your question correctly.. I'm talking about someone with a Microsoft email address not associated with any Windows insider program before. so he wants so start fresh and grab a Windows 10 final and activate it using KMS activators.
