This is the right time to purchase Windows 10

Windows 10 will indeed be free for those running Windows 7 or 8.1 on their computers, but for everyone else, the operating system will be available with a price tag of $119.99 for the Home version and $199.99 for the Pro package in the United States.

Some retailers are now taking pre-orders for Windows 10, so in case you already want to purchase the new operating system, you can do it today and also benefit from a small discount.

Newegg is one of the first retailers to offer us Windows 10, and what’s more, the Home version costs only $89.99, while Pro version can be yours for $129.99, as @WinObs discovered today.

This discount is only available for a limited time, so you need to hurry up if you really want to take advantage of the offer and purchase Windows 10 at a lower price.

Note that Newegg requires you to enter a promo code for every purchase you make in order to cut down the price of Windows 10, and below are the codes for both Windows 10 Home and Pro:

Windows 10 Home discount code: EMCAVKR222

Windows 10 Pro discount code: EMCAVKR223

In the rest of the world, Windows 10 will be available at the same prices as Windows 8, which could vary by country depending on taxes.

Why would anyone buy it for $129.....You can get a Windows 8.1 pro key for half that and upgrade to Windows 10 pro?

The discount codes are only for the oem versions which is only $10 off. I am sure I will be able to save more than that in the future on the full versions. Similar to the huge discounts that were given on Windows 8.1 a few months after it launched.

Windows 10 RTM has to be done this week if Micro$oft plans to get it to on store shelves by end of July. Soon after that, someone will release a nice activation bypass (cough *KMS* cough) for all to use. Patience people, patience.
