Batu69
With Windows 10 just around the corner, Microsoft has been pushing notifications to eligible users regarding the free upgrade, yet there are still many confusions concerning the update, even among the tech savvy audience. These misconceptions relate to the upgrade path to follow, the system requirements, the pricing as well as the possibility of the "Get Windows 10" app being a virus. While we have discussed all of these in detail in other reports, another confusion found among users is the following: "Why can't I see the Get Windows 10 app?" Fortunately, Microsoft has the answer to this question as well, as the company details in its Windows 10 FAQsYour device isn’t up-to-date with at least Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 Update. Windows Update is turned off or is not set to received updates automatically. You’ve blocked or uninstalled the necessary Windows Update functionality. Your device is not running genuine Windows.t is notable that while the first three issues can be resolved via Windows Update, the last one requires you to purchase a genuine copy of the OS.Moreover, Microsoft has also pointed out that the icon will not be displayed on PCs whose system requirements don't meet those of the OS, "After July 29, 2015, we’ll enable the icon in the system tray. This is to help ensure that you can easily check your PC’s compatibility if you choose."Furthermore, if your PC is managed by a school, a business, or runs an Enterprise edition of Windows, you will need to contact your system administrator regarding the update to Windows 10.Source

fastleo63
To get rid of these notifications immediately, you simply have to uninstall KB3035583 and tell Windows Update not to install it anymore.
Ryrynz
Or you could just hide it in the notifications area, there's six weeks before Windows 10 comes out.. big freakin deal.. think I can deal with a hidden icon for six weeks.. sheesh.
