New Windows 10 Build Expected This Week

Microsoft is now getting ready to ship a new PC version

Last week, Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Mobile preview build 10080, and the company is now switching focus to the traditional PC with a new version that could launch as soon as this week.

While information on the version number of this new PC build doesn’t exist just yet, it’s believed that it could be somewhere in the 1012x series, as screenshots coming from leaked builds have reached the web in the last few weeks several times, confirming that such versions have already been compiled.

And Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, has said in a short tweet that “we have a really good PC build in the pipeline right now,” suggesting that its launch is indeed imminent.

The last build before RTM?

Windows 10 is expected to reach RTM in June, and information coming via unofficial channels, including Russian leaker WZor, said that a build that would be part of the 1012x series could be the very last Windows 10 Technical Preview released to insiders, as Microsoft would then focus exclusively on signing off the operating system.

But if Microsoft rolls out a new build this week, there’s still plenty of time until the rumored July RTM date for Windows 10, so other builds could still be shipped in the meantime.

Microsoft, however, promised to provide insiders with new builds at a much faster pace, and although that “ludicrous” ring is yet to be created, new releases now seem to take place every few weeks.

The Windows Insider program will continue even after Windows 10 reaches RTM, as the company plans to continue its collaboration with users around the world for the next updates for the core operating system. The first Windows 10 update is expected in the fall of 2015, but Microsoft is yet to provide any specifics or information on it.

More details would, however, be provided later this year, as we get closer to RTM and general availability.

Oh, it is a great OS . . . . . . . . . . . . no doubt about that - the usual criticism is, but only to be expected (mostly from 99% of folks who never even tried out Windows 10.) :tehe:

Oops, I didn't know we had a few fans on the Windows 7 sidebar gadgets (DAMN! I never liked it.) BTW there are other 3rd party apps that can do the same job as you wanted. I few I can mention includes Rainmeter, Windows 7 side (as seen on TheWindowsClub.com).

Why this newer build before RTM? how many months from now (i.e if as speculated is right). Its just a waste of time and resources.

Why wont they release an update instead :wondering...:. I think Windows 10 be better after RTM (Why because alot Nerds hasnt really tested it. :p )

M$ & Windows 10 be ready to face the world.

Microsoft has become a clown and attention whore with superficial hypes and gimmicks. Just look at their Bork Tuesday. Every month they release something that will cause problems. Solid coders are rare and their QC looks like shit.

Although I wish Windows 10 would be a great OS, I suspect it will be a huge disappointment upon the RTM release.
