AV-Test reported this week that Tencent provided them with virus scanners that were optimized to perform better in tests of the test lab. The optimisations would also have no advantages for users and even lower the protection level of the products. Tencent argues it hasn’t violated any rules of the test lab. The Chinese antivirus company therefore asks AV-Test to withdraw its accusations and give back all awards and certificates, according toChina Radio International.Besides Tencent, also Chinese antivirus vendor Qihoo360 was accused of fraud by three test labs, including AV-Test. I'm pretty sure the agreement they had to sign had a similar looking line like "don't cheat you little bum or you are out, forever". There will always be some that play with the fire and then they cry when they burn their fingers. When Tencent is able to cheat, others are as capable. Even Microsoft gives two flying poops about silly benchmark points, that means they haven't cheated or tweaked for better results, MSE isn't that worth it anyway. :P Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
