anuseems
Those building an Intel machine these days have loads of options, with desktop CPU prices ranging from as little as $60 to well over $600. The Core i3 is intended as an entry-level option, the Core i5 is geared for mainstream usage, and the mighty Core i7 is meant for high-end systems and enthusiasts. Many will wonder which one is right for them. Do they need a Core i7 or will the Core i5 be just as fast for their needs? Should they spend less on a Core i3 and allocate the savings elsewhere, or is the Core i5 worth a premium?http://www.techspot.com/review/972-intel-core-i3-vs-i5-vs-i7/
gipsy
for most ppl i3 will be enough imo. i5 & i7 r for gaming, video rendering etc.so before 2 spend money u need to know "for what" first.

The Owl
Power, reliability, and speed. But the cost goes shooting up if your requirements are fairly basic then a i3 will do if you need a bit more Ommpf then a i5 but if your into games video editing etc you need the big boy.Personally I will stick with my Phenom X6 1100T fast CPU no where near the costs of Intel and does everything I want or need. Arizin
For power users, a late model i5 or i7 will suffice. i3 lacks performance although it still packs a punch for its price.
