As of June 5, Microsoft started RTM assemblies fir Windows 7, and now we are witnessing the preparations for the launch of the technological processes to start assembling RTM builds of Windows 7, as well as the emergence of a new branch builds, win7_rtm.

We will inform you on the progress of the assembly RTM builds.

That's the first candidate for the final assembly of Windows 7.

All assemblies in the assembly line WIN7_RTM candidates for the finals:

  • 6.1.7260.0.win7_rtm.090612-2110 - RTM branch build
  • 6.1.7261.0.win7_rtm.090615-1900 - RTM branch build
  • 6.1.7262.0.win7_rtm.090617-1900 - RTM branch build - perhaps this is the assembly will become the final RTM version of Windows 7 being rebuilt in the main (winmain) assembly line, as the final RTM release of Windows 7.

At the moment, comes the final stage of work. Access to all assemblies is completely closed to all except for the partners and employees of the Microsoft corporation.

Such a step will be taken as we have previously informed you, however this pointed out that all the long-awaited event will take place here now, so we just await the outcome of a vote by the assembly 6.1.7262.0.win7_rtm.090617-1900 and you will receive the "birth" of the final RTM release of Windows 7.

and - WINMAIN branch build:

6.1.7233.0.winmain.090614-1655 - actual build in winmain branch

Pay attention to the date of the assembly earlier on Sunday. The Microsoft assemblies are not collected, work wear 24h7!

added:

An indirect confirmation of the fact that the assembly of the final release may have occurred at the site of the announcement of Microsoft Connect:

"IMPORTANT NOTICE: ALL file downloads will be OFFLINE from Friday, June 19th at 7:00 pm PDT until Sunday, June 21st at 4:00 pm PDT for a system upgrade. Also, Microsoft Connect will be offline this Saturday, June 20th from 9:00 am - 11:00 am PDT for a version upgrade. "

IE, from Friday 19 June and Sunday 21 June to download files from the Microsoft Connect resource is suspended, so long stop resource of work tells us that that the coming global update of the site may be made filling the final RTM builds of Windows 7.

We still have no reliable information on the passage of the signing of the release and the technical parameters of the final RTM build Windows 7.

We expect the next news is closer to 19:00 Moscow time.

NB: Look for updates in this article, we will inform you on the progress of cases!

Keep a check on renovations in this news

I'm not gonna rain on anyone parade but win7 is great because no malicous software has been developed or released yet. and its not full of bloatware yet...

if microsoft can pull it off that it is flawless on release that we will not have to wait for sp1 which hopefully not but with anything developed it will happen...

unless i hear good things for a month after release, i will be sticking with vista sp2

I'm using leaked Win 7 build 7232 x64 as my main OS for mission critical work, and it's so polished already for all intents and purposes, it feels like a finished product. On my rig (T61p laptop), it is so much faster and more stable than Vista sp2 and all my apps (including COD4) and hardware run great on it. So I have a hard time understanding why anyone would continue using Vista (or XP) at this point in time when this great OS is available to all now in a stable, bug free version (as far as I can tell) for free, with keys from MS that won't expire until March 1, 2010.

Really, there is no reason to wait. Come on in, the water is fine.

Well.. it isn't officially released yet... As I'm using an older build on my laptop and love it.. but I'm definitely not going to use it as a primary OS (On my desktop), just yet. Going to wait till it is official that it is released to the general public.
