I got this message (Bitdefender - Alert) when i accessed an url (url for download):

Bitdefender blocked this page
The page you are trying to access contains Trojan.JS.Redirector.DN.

Is it safe?

Bitdefender give me two options:

  1. Take me back to safety
  2. I understand the risks, take me there anyway

Technical Details

The detection Trojan:JS/Redirector identifies a large grouping of programs or scripts that redirect a visitor from one website to another, unsolicited website.

These redirect scripts are typically hosted on malicious or compromised websites.

The unsolicited website the user is redirected to may have any or all of the following characteristics:

  • Pornographic
  • Hosts additional malware to be downloaded onto the visitor's computer
  • Steals data from the user
  • Use the augmented traffic to perpetrate fraud

The redirect scripts are usually written in JavaScript. Redirects that operate by exploiting vulnerabilities in the visitor's web browser or computer may also be considered exploits.

For a representative example of Trojan:JS/Redirector variants, see:
