Microsoft is already testing Morro, its promised new anti-virus product, on its own employees. It will shortly offer a public test or beta version for downloading

They already have Windows Live OneCare, wonder if that failed. I used it before, it was pretty nice.

Onecare is actually a pretty decent peace of kit. I think MS started on Morro as a change of philosophy.

Can't find a reason why. The only thing I didn't like about 1C (it's not really their fault) is once the trial ran out I couldn't find a fix for it. It was really good as far as detection (this was in my younger, less experienced days. I download a loads of garbage back then. I wonder why I never see anyone using that in av tests) & light on resources.

On top of that, 1C sounds better than Morro :lol:

Seen as though it is a part of Windows 7 that seems very unlikely.

I think Microsoft is simply working towards providing free useful security tools for Windows.
