A.lemane
AMD Dynamic Frame Rate Control: new feature will provide an incredible energy savings AMD is working on a new feature for its video cards Radeon, which is called dynamic frame rate control (Dynamic Frame Rate Control). This became known thanks to the PR-director Chris Hook (Chris Hook), known in several forums as AMD_Chris. According to his report, DFRC provides tremendous energy savings by reducing the frame rate. Most likely, this is achieved by reducing the frequency at which the graphics processor is working to get the frame rate. If you think that it looks like a V-Sync, it is not quite true. The essence of the V-Sync is a synchronization frame rate in the game with the refresh rate of the monitor. If the game, for example, the image is displayed at 100 fps, and you through V-Sync limit the rate to 60 fps, then the GPU will still continue to operate at higher frequencies. Dynamic control of the frame rate is likely to perform a certain function limiter that prevents the process of graphic work at higher frequencies than necessary, but increases the frequency of GPU when needed. Hook said that the DFRC guarantees incredible energy savings.Source: http://www.thg.ru/
digimon
wonder if this needs a new graphics card or will work with existing ones
VileTouch
err... idk about amd, but that have been around on Nvidia cards for a while now
