Microsoft Promises Updated Explorer UX in Windows 10

Windows 10 Technical Preview indeed comes with some improvements in File Explorer, including a new share option that launches the modern share charm, but it appears that Microsoft is planning even more changes until the final version of the operating system goes live.

Windows Insider leader Gabriel Aul has revealed on Twitter that more Explorer UX changes are planned until Windows 10 reaches RTM, but he has refused to provide any other details about what's going to be tweaked in this particular OS feature.

Updates for the file manager are among the most requested features for Windows 10, so Microsoft most likely heard all the feedback and is now working to make some of these suggestions available in the upcoming operating system.

Tab support in Windows 10

One of the options that users want to see in File Explorer is tab support, a feature that would basically allow them to work with multiple files and folders at the same time, without the need to open more than a single window.

Such functionality is already available in many third-party file managers out there, so it's no surprise that users expect Microsoft to add it to File Explorer as well.

At this point, it's a bit too early to speculate that Microsoft would implement tabs in Windows 10's File Explorer, but there's no doubt that the company has already looked at this feature, so don't be too surprised if it's indeed introduced.

This feature has received more than 20,000 votes on the Windows UserVoice and is very likely to get more until Windows 10 is released. User comments pretty much speak for themselves.

“Most of people prefer tabs because they provide more work space, though Microsoft should include the ability to drag and drop tabs to a separate explorer window like in Internet Explorer, so we could copy/move/compare files and folders,” one of the users who voted for this option explained.

Gabriel has been busy talking . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . through the cheeks of his constipated butt. <_<

If Gabriel's incision were to be sutured together - he would still continue jabbering the same old line (like a broken record.)
