Microsoft has a history of providing its software to students and the education market at a reduced cost, and even since switching to a subscription based model of delivery, this is still the case. The Office 365 ProPlus benefit has been made available to both students and those in the education profession worldwide, meaning that any eligible institution can provide an Office 365 ProPlus subscription at no extra cost.

ProPlus contains the entire office suite, which at this point is known to almost everyone, yet includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, and Access. In addition to this, users are given access to Office Online, allowing for cloud access, and 1TB of storage on OneDrive for Business.

Anthony Salcito, Microsoft's President of Worldwide Education states,

"It...means that teachers are using the same technology and features as their students, and allows them access to all their Office documents both at school and at home. With the program, educators can access full Office on up to five PCs or Macs and can unlock the editing capabilities of Office apps for iPad"

Offering a great deal of flexibility for users, it seems as though this is a great deal for all eligible. Does your university or school use Office 365 ProPlus?
