As customary after announcing a new flagship Apple has lowered the prices of the old generation iPhones. The extent of the cut is familiar as well - $100 off the price.

The base 8GB flavor of the iPhone 5c now costs $0 on contract, while the 16GB iPhone 5s will set you back $99.

There is nothing yet on the contract-free prices, but we guess they should be getting a price cut as well once the Apple Store is back online.

I would like 3x iPhone 5c please ! B)

Well it's two-year contract, nothing is free!

It is sure better than three years contract which I'm stuck in and I'm glad it's only six month left on my contract. But anyway, my business goes to Android. :hehe: Cheers for the info.

2 years is way too long to be stuck with an 8GB phone, that is already 2 years obsolete. Remember that it is an iPhone 5 in a cheap plastic shell, and the iPhone 5 came out 2 years ago. That is what you sign up for if you spring for the 5C. You really don't want to be on iOS 10 in 2 years suffering with a 4 year old phone.

Nothing is free, think twice before buying, and if $100-$200 over two years is such a bank breaker, why do you even have an Apple phone? I'd buy a cheaper Android phone for sure or avoid a smartphone entirely. Maybe a different story if you have multiple kids who need/want new phones, but for just one?

I used to buy the 16GB phones, but my iPhone 5 got obscenely tight, and there wasn't a single picture or video on it. iOS is sure to slurp even more of that 8GB space.

Hell, even the fact that if you buy anything but the cheapest storage option, you basically get double for free, tells me they hope you run out of space and HAVE to trade in, or buy iCloud space.

As far as I'm concerned, my purchasing plans just netted me 64GB of space free, because I thought for sure a 128GB = $600, but damn Apple why no 32GB for the cheapest new iPhone? You could then give 16GB to the current 8GB one.
