Dodel
I saw the discussion about xposed, I'm planning to install it, but I'm affraid of the bootloops. Any other feedback about it from users who use it?As long as you root first, and then install a custom recovery, you will always be able to restore your phone to a working state. I have a setup like this and use Rom Toolbox to make an image of my phone which in case it decides not to boot after I've been fiddling, I can simply jump into recovery mode and reflash my image, and my phone is back up and running. Also check this for mount / reboot solution :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/orig-development/lb-definitive-root-remount-reboot-fix-t2317432 Edited June 18, 2014 by Dodel
AlexCross
I might try it first on an old device that I don't care if it brakes( but still it's good to keep the 2nd SIM in it, so I don't really intend to break it), before I'll try it on my main phone. My main phone is a LG Flex, the old phone is a Vodafone 875.Both are rooted, none has a custom recovery installed, do you know a place where I can find a custom recovery for the 875? I wan't to play with it a while until I flash a custom recovery on the G Flex. Edited June 18, 2014 by AlexCross
smallhagrid
OK, so maybe I'm not an absolute noob anymore now that I solved some problems...?!Here's an example of one problem that I don't know how to solve and maybe someone here will help me, please ??:I found a download of Omega StatusBar Pro v1.7.1.8ESET says it contains=> Android/AdDisplay.AppwizVirusTotal more or less agrees with that conclusion.Searching on that thing brings me to here=>http://www.mobyaffiliates.com/mobile-advertising-networks/appwiz-2/Which says in part:"With simple SDK integration, Android publishers and developers can integrate Appwiz easily and access search monetization and Appwall promotions to generate an immediate income."My 1st question of today:Is there a simple way when I have the APK open as a ZIP to remove this thing ??(I have not found an Omega StatusBar Pro APK without it anyplace...)I am also feeling like I may now be brave enough to try Xposed, back-ported to Gingerbread...( http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/xposed-ported-to-gingerbread-update-to-t2739034/post44034334#post44034334 ) My 2nd question of today:Is there any special knowledge needed to make use of Xposed framework correctly ??Thanks. Dodel
Thanks Dodel. The problem is that I don't know whether this=>In a download of Omega StatusBar Pro v1.7.1.8 - ESET says it contains=> Android/AdDisplay.AppwizIs a malware - or simply advertising added in ?!?It's just advertising, hence my link to luckypatcher, with that app you can null the adverts in the apps, so they stop calling home and also stop being displayed inside the application itself, also why not consider running avast or something from google play ?, as you a running a rooted device and IF you give your AV app full admin rights, it will be able to remove any infections anyway.Saying that I run Dr.web premium, but never had an infection.
