Apple and Google missing the mark on mobile security

From V3:

The security around the Apple iOS and Google Android operating systems is not good enough for most businesses' needs, according to Microsoft product manager Chris Hallum.

Hallum highlighted Windows Phone's low malware levels as proof of the platform's superiority over Android in an interview with V3.

"We view security as a differentiator for our Windows Phone 8.1 platform. Windows Phone is very resistant to malware. Part of this is due to the store policy we use. A big battle protecting customers is working to ensure malware doesn't get into the ecosystem," he said.

aint going to happen

if ANYONE is foolish enough to think windows phone is going to beat Android they best go see a shrink. as per usual with Microsoft they seem to think if they didn't think of it first then they can come late to the party and win, aint gonna happen

I have five Windows machines four on windows 7 scoring high WEI figures I still have one older Windows XP machine running (doesn't often go on line) but is a fast machine (Barton 3200 CPU with 3Gb of Ram which in its day was COOKING) ehhee and I have two Samsung Galaxy Tab's (Mk1) with 3G one as was the day it started one that has been "Rooted" with 4.3 on it strangely I prefer the standard one.

I have no intention of changing to a windows phone with hands the size of mine the Tab is the perfect tool and it does what I need. (That's a 7" screen and with my hands its just right)

just to prove a point on the size of my hands, this is my Left hand the smaller of the two (everyone's hands are slightly different sizes) my right hand was taking the photo, against a standard Microsoft Keyboard as you can see I COULD operate the "Tab" key and the "Enter" key at the same time my span (tip of little finger to tip of thumb) is 11.25 inches or 311mm

You should be a macros god!, and your desk looks in the same 'organized' state as mine :)

In regards to the OP, Windows have had decades of trying to make something secure, and still failing, hell they can't even get IE to be semi secure, never mind an entire new OS.

The security around the Apple iOS and Google Android operating systems is not good enough for most businesses' needs, according to Microsoft product manager Chris Hallum.

In all honesty, when you start bashing other OS's and claiming your OS will be more secure, your heading for a fall.

The Owl's hand - hand as it shoul be! :omg:

Well, the article concerns about the security issue, not the size issue.

Nobody will believe Mr. Chris Hallum except the MSFT employees (they konw the real thing, anyway).

Wow I remember the Tab 1, seems like an age ago now. I remember spacemoose on XDA originally bringing Honeycomb to it (From dev build) long before CM9 officially got released :)

Was a great device and still even better then any of the iPads today which are still like childrens toys in comparison to any Android based device.
