install issue.

Installing windows 8 on a pc. It installs windows fine. When it goes to getting devices ready it gets to 65% ready, waits about 10 mins, reboots, comes back up to a black screen that just sits there and not do anything.

I have been having troubles with my dvd drive. Having to push open button a few times before it opens maybe 4 x before it opens. Could that be causing this issue or would it be something else?

thx

Edit: unplugged power to dvd and still have the issue. Any ideas guys?

Sometime this is due to your bad hard drive disk, scan your disk for errors

  • Create a bootable USB using rufus in a clean machine

  • Go to BIOS of the machine to be installed and change the boot order for USB FDD
  • Insert the bootable USB that you have created using rufus and try to instal
  • If fails, check your HDD for errors with HDD Regenerator and fix them
  • Now try to instal
  • If fails, Other PC components may faulty. In this case visit servicing.

Are you trying to upgrade or doing a clean install?
