Sonar
New info on the next Xbox One system update has surfaced, care of the Xbox Live users lucky enough to get preview access. To start with the itty-bitty stuff, the patch adds a couple of new icons to the dashboard - the first indicates when you can join a friend's game, the second indicates that a game has been updated recently, perhaps in your absence. Another previewer has details of the April update's sound and chat mixers, which allow you to adjust the balance of audio between main and snapped apps or games. You can also set the console to reduce the volume of other sounds by 80% or 50% while using Kinect to chat. Here's a little gallery of off-screen snaps. Finally, one previewer has posted a Game DVR clip that seemingly demonstrates how Microsoft has fine-tuned the Xbox One's video compression algorithms. I can't confirm the video's authenticity. Can you see a difference?Read the official need-to-know on the update here. Microsoft has yet to announce a release date.Source
