These stats that come out every month from online statistics website NetMarketShare had me shaking my head is disbelief and smiling both at once when I looked at their latest set of results for January 2014. And the news is Windows XP actually grew in market share during those 31 days, and it was a bigger leap in share than both Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1...

You'll notice Windows 7 share dropped 0.03% during last month, while XP went up a full 0.25%, Windows 8/8.1 could only manage a rise of 0.09% (now at 10.58% combined) although 8.1 is slowly eating into 8's share. OS X 10.9 seems to be a the biggest winner this month with a 0.41% rise.

With the support shutoff only 2 months away, it'll be interesting to see what happens now it looks like more people have switched to XP in January than Windows 8/8.1, it's the o/s that just won't go away...:)

It'll be a long time before XP dies completely, it is still heavily used within the commercial industry also business, you will find a lot of "Self Service" Machines and ATMs are still running it (Well within the UK this is) also, our train ticket machines are still running off of it.

It's a sturdy OS that will just keep on shaking the dust off of itself until there is no other choice but to upgrade.

Stupid people resisits to changes, XP is old and more insecure, it's like try to go out with your CTR TV and VHS Player instead of your I Phone or I Pad.
